100m immigrants needed to save aging Chinese workforce

China's system is historical and progressive while the Indians are fanatically stuck with the facade of democracy and their horrible social conditions.

Neither is your system historical, it was largely copied from the Soviets, nor is India stuck.

Not being able to do better than you doesn't mean we are stuck. We are still progressing.

Why citizenship? The number of citizenships of foreigners after 1949 is countable.

Because citizenship is required to assimilate.

China has historically been so good at assimilation, and is losing this today.

"we are still progressing" you mean 10% of Indians? Not those hundreds of who die in railway accidents every year?
Do you see assimilation in Europe?
Sorry, Chinese in Southeast Asia are still have strong identity to their own culture. They have reshaped the whole Southeast Asia.

What made you say the 10% Indian ?

Our per capita GDP is a quarter of yours in nominal terms and between a half and third in exchange terms. Our Gini coefficient (the measure of inequality) is same as you or smaller. So our people in general our poor, but inequality is less. I know you will say that economic progress will increase Gini which I agree with, yet China shouldn't be arrogant to say, that any nation below me is all useless. Yes, China has progressed faster, but we have done as well, albeit slower. There is food security now, many people have been raised out of poverty etc.

Actually, if you look at it, our per capita GDP at nominal terms is higher than Pakistan. So your ally is much more in trouble than us.

Inequality less? Are u sure? I bet u don't include those in ghettos and countryside, even our citizens in the remote mountainous regions have clean water and electricity.
$10-&1000 vs &1-10, yes yes, the second one is less unequal.
In China, Chinese netizens describe India as 10%human beings and 90%******s.
I respect a lot of countries which has lower GDP per capita, just u win our respect if your internet websites put the tragic train accident in the headline. IT JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY.

Also, people do assimilate. Not all do, and some sectors resist, but you need strong assimilating force to create an identity.

In Europe, apart from some muslim groups, I do see a lot of assimilation going on. Obviously China should learn from the best at this game, aka, the United States, where while there still are tensions occasionally, by and large the American identity is very assimilating. Most of the Chinese Americans would unequivocally consider them as Americans, and even gawk at being differentiated.

Also, by your comments one would think that by assimilation you mean total annihilation, which would not be possible. Assimilation means for an immigrant group to create a core identity, love that identity, while at same time maintaining the mot fundamental aspects of the home culture.

If you look at it, Thailand has been almost totally successful at Chinese assimilation. Singaporeans have also created their own identity. Most will tell you that they are Chinese only by ethnicity. Indonesians and Philippines have done the same. The only odd case out seems to be the Malaysians, where still Chinese identity strong. But, here I will fault the local Malays, who have always desired to push back the Chinese from everything.

That's what I'm saying. Inequality is based on distribution of wealth, not absolute wealth. US has a higher Gini coefficient, where it can still be argued that the life in their rural counties might be better than 2nd tier Chinese cities.

Read about Gini Coefficient. Also, the data is largely non-controversial.

Also, I don't know what gave you this impression that there are some kind of ghettos etc. which is totally false. In India there is total freedom of movement anywhere. Also, being a democracy, these people know their rights of voting and do vote. A large part of these people don't intentionally pay taxes, and so on. Like China, where there is news of beggars earning shit loads of money, there have been many similar cases in India.

If you are a bit fluent in maths. Just consider this:

Take the income distribution vs population of China.

Shrink it wrt the population a bit, to decrease inequality.

Then shift the whole graph on lower income levels.

That will be India.

And no this $1-10 and $10-100 thing is not right. Gini coefficient measures inequality. Which means that it can be scaled for the same results.

Lets say there are 3 people in both country A and B.

If in country A the people earn dollar 1, 4, and 10; with an average of dollar 5.

And say in country B the people earn dollar 10, 40, and 100; with an average of dollar 50.

The Gini coefficient would be the same, while the percapita GDP would differ by a factor of 10.

I guess human life is cheap in India. That's why they will never achieve developed status. How can, under the present inefficient regime, be those millions of underprivilaged human beings made a part of the progress.

You say they forget yesterday's disaster and poke their nose into others' business. That's a social trait, I guess, that can be seen on this forum. But, even in the long term, India's social conditions remain to be stagnant for the under-privileged.

I wonder how India's social problems be solved.

Is forced abortion and population control a solution? But even their health conditions are horrible for women to dare an abortion.

Again, when our train accident happened, every netizens were discussing, criticising and providing suggestions, having no time for other nation's internal affairs. Of course, if you don't think they were a part of you 10%Indians.

They will say they are the biggest democracy, they have no human rights issue. I see hope everywhere in ASEAN, even Sub-saharan Africa

It strikes me that the way you are criticizing us, is exactly the same way westerners criticize you.

I had expected more empathy from Chinese here.

They say exactly the same things:

That human life is cheap in China. That people work in slave conditions etc etc etc.

Also, in no way are our conditions stagnant.

Incomes have been rising albeit slower to China. That's what I'm saying that you people just don't even look at your hypocrisy. Westerners who are used to higher standards of living keep saying similar things about you.

At least be rational. Why this urge to fight anyone?

When you criticise the others, pls find a mirror and look at yourself.
I shall reiterate my question, when can you people put yesterday's train accident back in the headlines, and discuss it seriously like how Indians discussed about our 2011 train accidents? Do you guys care more about our victims than your compatriots?

I guess it is even better to stop engaging the Indian because no way there is an end to the talking.

What is wrong with this thread is that the Indian talks about China's internal affair that it has no business with. Then, when we respond the same way, he feels offended. If we can respect each other's internal affairs and stop posting sneaky stuff and pretend sincere, all will be fine.

I do not care about India and its conditions. I have no intention to criticize them. But if they talk badly about us, we have to respond in the same manner.

If we further engage the person, we will end up discussing CCP and the ruthless regime.

Better stop here.

China's demographics is none of an Indian's business. If they are populating fast, unhealthy and under horrible humanitarian conditions, it is their problem. I cannot tell them to stop but I will not be part of it except bringing about similar issues that happen everywhere.

Most of the Indian people who discussed negatively were wrong and idiots. Chinese railways are way safer than India's. They are just the ones who hate China. Had I been there at that time, I would have taken your side.

And this is the hatred that I want to reduce.

Yes, the news isn't displayed prominently, but it is reported and commented upon. Sorry to say, that many people don't consider sporadic accidents that much a big deal.

So if Indians ever criticize, in any way or form, the Chinese infrastructure, notify me, I will kick their ***.

Again, when did I ever talk negatively about China?

I just posted a comment by your own researcher. Also in the recent two meetings in China, there was a lot of attention on demographics already. Many people commented on removing one-child policy etc.

And I have never asked you to stop talking about India. I have no problems. This is a discussion problem and I recognize all the strengths and failings of India. Yes, India is way dirtier and messy.

We respect your tremendously I would say.

I bet he won't stop, it's his thing. If he stops, India will have 10 HSR lines in one month.:p:
My second bet is, Modi can never build a standard HSR, people vote for some like Aam Aadmi party and Mayavati's party of "untouchable".
My third bet is, their sl*ms in every city will grow bigger every year.

.
there are 500 million southeast asians and robots can also help

.
Never. China is a nationalist and exclusive country, the society will never accept such amount of immigrants.

This one, my dream lover:oops:
If you ask a Chinese to choose between her and any other international Chinese stars, I think most Chinese men will choose her. International doesn't mean recognition of locals:-)
