Since China dramatically reversed course and loosened its zero-tolerance approach to Covid last week, Beijing has gone all out to convince the public that it can...
Like what? Looking at just death rates? If so, North Korea is doing among the best. If we are looking as it holistically, then yes IMO they are doing better than China in Covid response.
Really? So why do still keep posting some random YouTube videos of random foreigners praising China?
If it's a praise, you share; if it's a criticism, "no one cares about what a random foreigner thinks about China"?
Australia and New Zealand handled it pretty well. They are completely open...
I really doubt the Chinese government loosen restrictions because of the protests. It takes time to plan and coordinate policies. I say at the very most the protests only brought forward their reopening plans (which they should already have) for a few weeks.
Omicrom was already spreading...
It's a forum for discussion between different nationalities. If we go by the basis that only a citizen of the said country has the right to say anything about the country, then this forum should close down.
On Saudi, I feel that the media keeps on emphasizing on Khashoggi's assasination while it's in the US's interests to get along with Saudi. If the US is a one-party state with control over the media, I don't think the political leadership will be keen to let the issue fester and work against...
I think the US political leadership largely don't give a shit, but they have to act like they care because otherwise it's politically unpopular with the electorate.
I agree for the others, but the real estate was long due for stricter regulations. The sector is highly leveraged and in a huge bubble which could cause huge problems in the future. And you have companies like Evergrande with unhealthy balance sheet venturing into EVs, football club, mineral...
Imagine going to Bali with your girlfriend.
1) You and your girlfriend can't share the same room without a marriage certificate.
2) Opt to share a room with pinhole cameras to prove that you and your girlfriend didn't have sex during your stay.
It's not going to be enforceable for most cases lol.
It's great, but why do you have to keep putting down other countries as comparison to emphasize your country's superiority? You really believe only China can plan for the long term and other countries are so incompetent that they can't plan beyond an electoral term?
There's a Chinese internet phrase for this:

Yeah, anything which paints China negatively is a Falungong website from your POV I suppose.

Then in the first place, why even suggest mRNA from the word go if it's not any superior when Sinovac is available?
~99.7% of cases are mild (in reality it's even lower because many don't even bother testing/reporting to the authorities).
Sure, like China having ~658K excess deaths...
