British Pakistani girl murdered by one/two men who wanted to marry her in Pakistan.

British Pakistanis get it in the neck from both ends. In UK they get it from the bigots who label all Pakistani's as grooming gangs and in Pakistan they get it from people who want to get citizenship or their money. It a loose, loose situation for them.

Will India initiate another crisis on border to distract anger against BJP/Modi?

That is how to perfectly sum up Modi government. They have based their mandate on nationalism - which is based on bravado and chest thumping against Pakistan. Cue another Pulwama and another Surgical strike.

Indian G7 delegation self-isolating after two positive COVID tests, UK official says

I am surprised why this is even going ahead in person. This can be done online - zoom or MS teams. Why invite them in the first place. :hitwall:

Pakistan textile co grabs IKEA's ‘Affordable Sustainability’ award - only one in the world

Ikea is not the only one, if you have a Bedeck near you nearly all of their bedsheets, pillow covers and duvet covers are made in Pakistan. In the last two years Pakistani textiles have replaced Vietnam and Indonesia manufactured goods in a number of chains. Next and M&S have a few lines that...

British Pakistani girl murdered by one/two men who wanted to marry her in Pakistan.

Just read this news today. What a sad, sad world we live in. The craze in Pakistan is very real. Everyone wants a foreign passport and the poor girl was seen as an easy way to get it. Hope they make an example of the culprits - this is getting far too common and needs to be stopped.

EU Parliament to review Pakistan’s GSP+ status and put trade embargo (blasphemy laws

Resolve - or what's left of it after being battered and taken to the cleaners by successive governments. Yes I know about honour killing in Pakistan but the blasphemy issue can be curbed by actually dishing out justice not letting the mob control and dictate to anyone's whims. Why state has...

Padmaavat’s Khilji Reminded Me of Azam Khan: Jaya Prada

I will have to read up that, I have only read the subcontinent history so know that they carried out multiple invasions ransacking Lahore, Multan and adjoining areas, Khilji inflicted the first defeat. It's a bank holiday weekend and we are still in lockdown so will look up Mongol conquests in...

EU Parliament to review Pakistan’s GSP+ status and put trade embargo (blasphemy laws

I read that too, same here, it was all of them on it - judges, lawyers, police and every other tom, dick and harry. Everyone wants a slice of the same pie but no one is willing to pay for it. Someone needs to close the shop or change the shopkeeper. No one has the balls to do it because of the...

EU Parliament to review Pakistan’s GSP+ status and put trade embargo (blasphemy laws

Agree on all counts, it's a bit comical how some people have reacted - you can't have it both ways. However, any attempts to modify or change legislation would be termed as taking dictation from foreign governments. Khan is in a pickle, worse - this was avoidable but he triggered it.

Padmaavat’s Khilji Reminded Me of Azam Khan: Jaya Prada

Say what you must about the man but he was a military genius, before him no one had defeated the Mongols. He was the first to do it and drove them back to Afghanistan that too at the height of Mongol power when everyone trembled at the sound of their name.

EU Parliament to review Pakistan’s GSP+ status and put trade embargo (blasphemy laws

Mate this is a little more serious that what you are saying, he is not far right but part of the Eurosceptic conservatives. https://ecrgroup.eu/about Also attached is the motion he is talking about, it stems from the case of a Shagufta Kausar and Shafqat Emmanuel. Never heard of them so will...

I sort of get the maid culture in Pakistan - you have less greenery and a lot of dust so cleaning is required more regularly compared to UK. However, my pet peeve in Pakistan is when everyone (adults, kids and all those who are old enough and should know better) come from outside and order their...

Yeah same here, I get asked the same question - everyone asked me did I drive a Mercedes/BMW or Audi. When I tell them I have a Skoda Superb Estate, I have to tell in detail what the car is, they ask for details as if they asking for someone's hand in marriage. My Skoda is brilliant it has all...

Australia examines modern slavery laws amid concerns over products linked to Uyghur abuse

My statement was not ambiguous, you lack the sense to or understand anything other than what you have been told. FYI - I am a free from threat (mostly) bubbly lad working away in UK without any threat of being sent to a retraining camp because of my beliefs. Here is proof, hopefully from a...

Australia examines modern slavery laws amid concerns over products linked to Uyghur abuse

In USA popular vote decides who governs them for a fixed term the party in power provided they have Congress and Senate majority can enact legislation. You very conveniently change the topic each time and miss-interpret my statements. This is what I said " No western government passes unilateral...

Count me in with the majority. Kudos to you and your dad for being like that - it bodes well for you. I don't mind a little show off as long as you are not bankrupting yourself maintaining your lifestyle. That part in bold is sound advice. I am going to use this line next time when I don't...

I would pay to see some Lahori "wannabe" posh kid washing windscreen and picking trash. I don't understand why this is frowned upon and looked down on - work is work, My first job was in a shop and main duty was cleaning floor and shelves. However, this brings to mind the favourite threat my...
