    Pakistan's Service Rifle (G-3, Type-56) Replacement Competition 2016.

Out of curiosity, how is CZ doing in the trials?

    Pakistan's Service Rifle (G-3, Type-56) Replacement Competition 2016.

The Turkish Army bought a batch of 15,000 MPT-76s for $1200 a unit. @Arsalan I'd reckon a POF build of the MPT-76 with an imported red dot sight could come in for $1500/unit. http://www.janes.com/article/56695/turkey-orders-more-mpt-76-service-rifles

Depends on the product. For the Su-35, UAC has slotted export aircraft blocks to be produced in parallel with VVS fighters.

    Karakorum - 8 (K-8) | Jet Trainer Aircraft.

There was hardly anything available in 2010. Nowadays however, the Turks are marketing the Hurkus turboprop trainer as a fighter trainer alternative to the T-37.

Turkey's STM won Pakistan Agosta 90B modernization tender

@cabatli_53 - is there a lightweight torpedo as well?

Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions.

Even though it was a 'hello hello visit', ACM Aman didn't waste his time there - he went and basically drove the PAF's interests as best as he possibly could.

    PAF Air Refueling Capability

That'd require altering the core IL-78 platform, not within our financial or technical means, and not something that is feasible to begin with. Long-term, I'd reckon the PAF would love something like the Airbus MRTT or Pegasus.

    Pakistan's Artillery Upgrade Discussions

A lightweight gun is a lightweight gun, which isn't common in today's marketplace. So, if the rifle has performance problems, the PA could invest in its improvement, and in turn, demand ToT for the updated version. As for alternative SPH. We spoke of this before, but take a modern tank hull -...

Qatar: Talks with Pakistan over Mirage 2000-5s

I'm not sure how much of MRF can readily be transferred onto the M2K/-5 - we are talking about a different airframe, different internals, and different engine, after all. That said, yes, the M2K/-5 would make for an excellent strike aircraft, one that we could utilize for conventional and...

Qatar: Talks with Pakistan over Mirage 2000-5s

Assuming this rumour is correct, then the PAF talking to Qatar doesn't mean UAE is out of the mix. The PAF could potentially be talking to both (as well as France) and be on the look out for a decent number of M2K-5/9s. It'd be an excellent strike platform.

Anyone else thinking this is the post-Mirage ROSE Ra'ad solution? @Bratva @JamD

Pakistan hopes to revive its naval modernization program

I think the multi-mission vessel can be made to be very affordable provided some key comprises are made, e.g. reducing the size and endurance of the ship (making it less suitable for SLOC and more focused on A2/AD). These sub-2000 - or even sub-1500 ton - ships can still be heavily armed (e.g...

Pakistan-Turkey Going To Have Massive Deals In Defence Production Sector - Press Release

That's dependent on Turkey releasing a $400m loan - not sure if that is going to happen soon considering recent events in the country (e.g. short-term economic volatility).

Pakistan hopes to revive its naval modernization program

I'm beginning to wonder... Our maritime AAW needs, are they of need in order to defend our SLOC, or to strengthen our A2/AD? Pakistan's merchant navy is on the small side, so I am not sure if maritime trade will be a decisive factor for us in wartime (unless other countries are willing to...

    Pakistan's Service Rifle (G-3, Type-56) Replacement Competition 2016.

One problem with the new designs - i.e. SCAR, CZ, ARX, etc - is that they're too new. In the world of rifles, 5 years worth of combat experience - while a lot - pales in comparison to the market, which is flush with designs packing decades of usage, improvements, feedback, etc. Even some new...

Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions.

I'm confident we'll see Aselsan and Havelsan contracts with "undisclosed customer" written on them over the next couple of years. That said, the list isn't that long, a lot of the Turkish stuff being developed for the Type 214 and MILDEN is still under development, I doubt it'll be cleared in...

Pakistan hopes to revive its naval modernization program

@Arsalan The trend is to go for compact medium/long-range SAM - e.g. Barak-8, CAMM and Aster 15/30. The benefit of the shift is that smaller warships, e.g. Ada-class, F-22P and even a sub-1500 ton design, would be able to pack proper AAW equipment. The South African Umkhonto has the potential...

Turkey to buy Super Mushshak trainers from Pakistan

I'd add JV in MILDEN submarine to one day replace our Agosta 90Bs.
