In international relations, there is always give and take. We can't always expect to get something and give nothing.

Great personalities Pakistan lost during the last decade

I met this gentleman once when I was a kid. He was invited as a judge in a school contest. He had a very kind and cheerful disposition. I remember noticing his red hair and skin colour. He could stroll through any street in Dublin and no one would doubt he was an Irishman. Anyone know his...

When will the Muslims in India win their freedom?

You said it. Expulsion by force takes many forms. When a community's personal safety, economic security, religious proclivity, or cultural identity is in peril, it is oppression, and may even be considered to be genocide. That is, in effect, expulsion.

When will the Muslims in India win their freedom?

You said "But they decided not to move to Pakistan". You are presuming that it was their decision to stay in India, implying they had a choice in the matter. I am saying that for most of them, moving was not a viable option. They would have if they could. But they did not have the means to...

FBR revenues up by 16 percent to Rs 2080 billion in 1st half

I agree that taxes have not been properly utilized in the past i.e. for the benefit of the citizens. But this government is at least trying to fix that. It is premature to dismiss the efforts of this government, when their stated intention and initial steps support what you're saying.

Why? Do you not see this as something good for the country? So you believe there should be no taxes?

When will the Muslims in India win their freedom?

I never said that. I agree that Islam alone is not enough to unite the Muslims of today. My point, which you ignored, is that if you keep pushing the Muslims of India to a corner, they will eventually push back.

When will the Muslims in India win their freedom?

I do not expect you to understand how important Islam is to some Muslims. Frankly, I'm not sure if the Muslims of India should start a movement for another separate homeland. But the behaviour of the Hindu elite towards Muslims may force them to push back.

That is what you said before 1947.

When will the Muslims in India win their freedom?

Please do not presume. Not everyone could afford to leave their properties, livelihood, and extended family, and go to a new country with nothing to their name. There is a reason why education among muhajirs was relatively high - the less educated ones simply could not come.

    How's your horse

You know the problem, but you lack the motivation to change your habits. Think of your strongest motivators. You may not want your parents to grieve the death of their young son, or your wife to be widowed at a young age, or your children to grow up fatherless. It could even be vanity. Whatever...

MANPADS Blessed With Coconuts & Cow Urine

However ridiculous it may seem to us, we should refrain from ridiculing their religious practices. Our religious traditions probably do not make sense to them either. But as @Goenitz has pointed out, such displays of religiousity are not compatible with India's secular claims. I guess the...

Islamic Festivals removed from NPR's Document

I have heard stories of Muslims wearing crosses in the days of partition, to hide their religious identity. I hope we are not going back to those times.

Christine Fair: after losing war in Afghanistan let's bomb Pakistan

It is obvious that she is biased against Pakistan. Her foul mouth and foul temper makes that pretty clear. But when called out on her bias, she hides behind her academic credentials and her status as a "scholar". This is right out of the American foreign policy playbook - creating chaos and...

Riyadh plans OIC FMs meeting on Kashmir

QATAR Invites PAF For National Day Parade

Pakistan's stated policy of neutrality between KSA-Qatar, KSA-Turkey and KSA-Iran is very tough to maintain, given the fact that Pakistan is beholden to the KSA/UAE for financial help. But I think it will pay dividends in the future. Besides, despite cynicism about Pakistan's ability to...
