FBR revenues up by 16 percent to Rs 2080 billion in 1st half

Dec 31, 2019: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected revenues of Rs 2,080 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year ending on December 31st, Chairman of the Board, Syed Shabbar Zaidi said Tuesday.

In a tweet, the FBR Chairman said that the revenue collection witnessed an increase of 16 percent during the period under review against the corresponding period of last year.

“Alhumdulillah FBR has collected Rs 2080 billion by this time for the half year ended December 31, 2019. This is higher by 16 percent over last year for the same period,” the Chairman FBR Tweeted.

People should be properly taxed.

Taxes should mirror the services provided. If it needs to built, rich should be taxed so that poor can use these services to keep the rich, richer.

i am living in Pakistan and I know better that beggars are more on streets than in previous years and alot of educated youth are migrating to foreign nations,I think your friend remains in areas of rich,I live in company of middle and poor class

I agree that taxes have not been properly utilized in the past i.e. for the benefit of the citizens. But this government is at least trying to fix that.

It is premature to dismiss the efforts of this government, when their stated intention and initial steps support what you're saying.
