What is in Khaleda Zia’s Vision 2030?

I'm not a Khaleda Zika supporter but some of those things on the manifesto, such as restricting power of the head of state and non-partisan state institutions, I WOULD like to see implemented. However I doubt the BNP would do such a thing if they are in power, it's just a game of switcharoo...

RSS to eulogise Bangladesh’s national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam as ‘good Hindu’

Yeah I'd say that's quite an apt comparison.

Recognizing india is enemy - is the biggest accomplishment for Bangladeshis

Considering his other posts, I'm absolutely certain that was sarcasm. But I'll let @bdslph speak for himself.

RSS to eulogise Bangladesh’s national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam as ‘good Hindu’

This guy can't even stay consistent in his hatred for Bangladesh . This is the same person who started a thread on how Bangladeshis were fundamentalists who were driving minorities out the country, but now according to him we are all committing shirk and "Good Hindus". At least pick a story...

Amnesty: Bangladesh media faces more restrictions now than ever.

I honestly wouldn't mind this, the Bangladeshi public deserve to know the full truth.

Islamic romance novels set hearts aflutter in Bangladesh

The biggest problem with her, more than anything else, is that she is genuinely just not a good writer. Relies purely on shock value to sell copies.

Dhaka University ban serving beef - hindu students beaten up café manager over beef

The headline is that Dhaka University will stop serving beef, which isn't true, it's a sensationalized headline. The banning of beef is limited to the single canteen in which the controversy happened, which does happen to be the Hindu Students Canteen. (of course Muslims CAN and DO eat there...

Dhaka University ban serving beef - hindu students beaten up café manager over beef

My point isn't about whether the law can or should be changed, I'm asking a question of how strict/laxed the Bengali Hindu attitude towards beef eating actually is. Are you a Bengali Hindu? Calm down mate the sensationalized headline has already been debunked.

Dhaka University ban serving beef - hindu students beaten up café manager over beef

But the law that made it legal (The West Bengal Animal Slaughter Act) dates back to 1950? surely it can't be that much of an issue if it's been legal for over half a century.

Dhaka University ban serving beef - hindu students beaten up café manager over beef

I thought Bengali Hindus generally don't have a problem with Beef? That's why it's legal in West Bengal?

    BD Military Might

You are thinking of England as a political institution, which began with William the Conqueror yes, however they have had multiple dynasty changes since then. The Normans, Plantagenets, Yorkists, Lancastrians, Stuarts, Hannover, and then the current house of Windsor, although a;p technically...

    BD Military Might

Longest? Possibly if you mean single dynasty (though they do have contention from the Habsburgs and the Yamatos), but definitely not largest. That would be the British, or if you mean land specific then that would be the Mongols.

India scores better than Pakistan on government restriction on religious freedom, Rank 28 vs Rank 42

Bangladesh at 43, could be better, hopefully it is on an upward trend.

Mamata suggests Dhaka to forget Teesta water

Underrated hero of ours, definitely. His dynasty in general is quite interesting, as I think they are pretty much the only Indo-Islamic sultans of confirmed paternal native ancestry (as far as I know, definitely the only example in Bengal). Unfortunately there's not a great deal of information...

India gives massive 4.5 US billion dollar line of credit to BD

There is "A" opposition party in the parliament (the Jatiyo party), however they lack popular support, the "real" opposition party (the BNP) chose to boycott the last election and therefore have 0 seats in the parliament right now.

India gives massive 4.5 US billion dollar line of credit to BD

There's the issue of how unbiased/fair the electoral commission of the last election was, to the point that it was considered enough of an issue that the BNP boycotted the last election, leaving the Awami League as the only major party in the parliament, along with a few token opposition groups...

India gives massive 4.5 US billion dollar line of credit to BD

That's a whole other issue. You could see a thread go on this section for maybe 10 pages on that subject.
