I don't see any problem here.
A university has decided to ban beef so it can reduce the potential for conflict or to accommodate minorities. The fact is one goes to university to learn and not to eat fancy feasts. Besides students can bring their own meals with however much beef they want.
Would the same logic work for a British university if it banned the use or sale of pork to appease the Muslim extremists on their campus? Or would you turncoat the other way? - just curious.
