The Philippines trust Vietnam. Why the hell shouldn't we? I find its better to trust people than to spend the rest of the time thinking up reasons to distrust someone.
I want to believe that ASEAN would be able to unite as a regional bloc, but at the moment, this is just a dream. The other SEA nations are more of letting Vietnam and the Philippines deal with the SCS disputes while they wait and watch the development like its a noontime drama.

Taiwan controls the biggest Spratly island.
The Philippines and Vietnam has control of most of the other islands. :victory:
Malaysia has control of the southern islands.
China has rocks.
And I'm sure there's no problem with Taiwan with the Spratlys.

Taiwan is easy to talk to regarding those claims. They are not the ones sending 'civilian' fishing boats all over other countries' territories to dredge all the fishes and taking corals. How often does the headline 'Taiwanese fishermen detained by so-so country for illegal fishing' appear in...

I'd still trust US-made ships even if they are old than those made by a certain mainland asian country whose various exported products have been known to be either substandard, prone to breaking, or has dangerous contaminants.
I heard they were taking the rocks and corals. Maybe they are going to bring it back to Hainan and rebuild it 12 NM away from the shore. They can call it Huangyan II and claim it in international court.
