    Pakistan India Alliance ?

Good points all. BUT We can dream and hope that dreams turn into a kind of reality. Otherwise what is the option? Continue as we are? Some people said: Man cannot run the 100 metres in 10 seconds. It's a dream Man cannot fly. It's just a dream Man cannot go to the moon, it's a...

    Pakistan India Alliance ?

What a lovely thread. Allow me to dream a little. :D I dream of India and Pakistan as two nations, independent, proud, strong and existing in amity. I dream of the day when, despite our border, a Pakistani can simply relocate to work in Mumbai or an Indian in Karachi. I dream of a...

Would The Friendship between China and Pakistan Last Forever ?

On topic - Nothing is forever. On topic - Paraphrasing Palmerston:"Nations have no permanent friends and no permanent enemies. Only permanent interests."

    Arjun News & Discussions

Ok, I know the Arjun is supposed to have beaten the T-90 in trials but this article does not reflect the headline. I guess one is now coming to understand the IA point of view? At it's core - QC, QC, QC. I don't know if Avadhi (the Ord factory) is up to enforcing QC (not DRDO's fault). I...

Separatist Insurgencies in India - News and Discussions.

BTW guys the Indian constitution specifically disallows GOI from stripping citizenship from any Indian, regardless of what that individual has done or is accused of doing. It's part of our fundamental rights, IIRC. However, if that person takes up citizenship of another country, Indian...

Separatist Insurgencies in India - News and Discussions.

The overall strategy, AFAIK, is even now being debated, so can't answer that. I do believe that it will go hard with everyone if they bring in regulars. We'll just have to wait and see as a strategy emreges, if it does emerge. As for taking action against mainstreamers who are Maoists...

    Attention!!!!!!!!!!! to all indian members

IK is a good poster. Makes sense to try to understand what he is saying in the OP, without emotion.

    Border management... BSF

They have a hard life and not as many comforts as the IA. They used to be shunted around so much, going from from one hot spot to another at the drop of a hat that, they used to call themselves the Bistar Sambhal Force!

    Pakistan's Internet censorship

In order to combat a knowledge/ info share website that apparently insults the sentiments of your citizens, the response is to prevent your citizens from access to that website? Doesn't make sense. It's like koi aap ko gaali de raha hai, aur aapka response hai ki, instead of debating the...

Japan, China in spat over nuclear arsenal

I read this......and then you think Indians are arrogant? :D:D

India's hate towards Pakistan on its next level.

I've gone through the whole thread, including the video. My opinion is that Pakistani members have a fair point to argue when they claim that Zakaria's opinion was biased. Not necessarily true, but it is a very fair opinion. At the very least I think Zakaria does not understand the level...

Hindi and Urdu words learning thread.

Dunno where you heard it. Sounds like rural/ rustic Hindi (spoken in Bihar). Could be : Kya Dekhat Hai - what are you looking at? Kya Dikhat Hai? - what are you showing? :partay:

Separatist Insurgencies in India - News and Discussions.

TechLahore, this is an interesting perspective on why Indian forces in Naxal areas have suffered setbacks. More food for thought. India’s topmost counter-Naxalite instructor, Brig. Basant Ponwar, has slammed the government and security heads...

Separatist Insurgencies in India - News and Discussions.

This is utter nonsense and propaganda. We are not exactly paradise on earth, but kindly do not apply Chinese government standards to India. We have not yet had a case where mostly unarmed protestors were gunned down in the heart of our capital. Unlike some countries I could name...

And in Maharastra the full bottle is a 'khamba'. BTW he quart is also called 'powwa' in North India. 'Powwa' is also the term for a short person.

Hindi and Urdu words learning thread.

On a related note - and at the risk of having my post deleted and/ or taking the thread in the 'wrong direction' - I wonder where the word 'tharak'/ 'tharki'' came from. Is it Punjabi? All of this in the spirit of scientific inquiry of course. :D And while we're at it, north Indian slang for a...

Hindi and Urdu words learning thread.

On 'khappay', there is a somewhat similar term used in North India - 'khapna' So if you say that 'yeh nahi khapta' it means, you don't accept it. I wonder if the two words are the same/ have the same roots.

Also, I believe that one issue the IAF faces is that some of these areas are heavily forested, and Naxals use this to their advantage. So recons may have limited effectiveness in some cases.

Separatist Insurgencies in India - News and Discussions.

I am not an expert; from what I have read the IAF fear that their logistical supply line could come under ground fire. That means copters and transport planes. Indian copters have already been fired at in some places - IIRC an enlisted ranker in the IAF has died some time ago. In which...
