Hey. I see the point you're making. However, it is still written as "No god but allah" instead of "No god but god". I am curious about how it is in Arabic. Anyways, thanks & take care.
Is it Islam or Islamist? - They are not the same thing - it does not matter how much Islamists will claim that they are speaking on behalf of Islam, reality is that that these are two different things.
Avatar - Quran is not written as if it were a novel - there is a poetic aspect to it and in fact, it may be of help to think of it as a song -- so No God but God, seems to me is poetic license and that there is no God
Deleted - like muse? not really--- My web nick was or is, supposed to "inspire" others
Hey. I have a little doubt that I think you might be able to help me with. I know that a phrase, along the lines of "There is no God but Allah", is of some significance in Islam. What does it really mean? "Allah" in my understanding is the Arabic word for the English word God, although there might have slightly different interpretations. However, doesn't the phrase essentially mean "There is no god but god", which is the same as saying "There is god" ?
