Poverty to end by 2024

Is not you are the guy who brags about BD people drink a 300 Taka cup of tea?
Wow I am slightly confused ! Is it typo or any misunderstanding?
In which area 300 tk cup tea is available?Perhaps in very few shops in posh areas?
Well i will not be surprised because there are lots of peoples in Bangladesh love to waste money and occasionally can visit such restaurants.

Even you can find such waste in dhaka to bogra road a place named dhankundi amtola ( in sherpur upazila of bogra) and the restaurants name is "food village" owner is former MP of BNP Golam muhammad siraj who is also the owner of S.R travels a Coach service from bogra to dhaka .

there in a corner they take 8-10 time higher price ( but not as high as 300tk/cup, but it is not impossible) than a normal cup of tea. Even a seven up that is 15 taka ,they charge 50/55 tk for it. But surely common peoples don't go there regularly. Just they visit occasionally.

So if @Bilal9 claimed such thing, then perhaps he is not wrong ! Its possible in few expensive restaurants.

It is someone's freedom to spend million Taka or more on food, drinks, and beverages. But, it was preposterous for @Bilal9 to mention that BD people enjoy drinking Tk300.00 per cup tea when I know most people drink Tk8.00 per cup tea. I am sure there are expensive Hotels in Dhaka where it may cost that much. But, these are all restricted places for common people like me.

yes that's true , and same for me.Even if i can afford i just don't want to buy seven up with 55 taka where i can buy the same thing with 15 taka just from 20 step distance.

I don't disagree with you on that part. One country definitely needs a solid base for development and diversification to avoid middle income trap. But what we are discussing here is theoretical definition of developed country. However to @bluesky deVeloped country means only when a country become develop like USA or UK.
BD will remain with an LDC status until 2024 and you guys are here to predict it to become suddenly a developed country when China itself will not become one before 2080. BD has to go through the painful process of a developing country with the building of millions of industries before it can be said a developed one. Read the excerpt below:

"Developed countries have generally post-industrial economies, meaning the service sector provides more wealth than the industrial sector. They are contrasted with developing countries, which are in the process of industrialization or pre-industrial and almost entirely agrarian, some of which might fall into the category of least developed countries".

You know BD is a Least Developed Country (LDC) and note above why it is categorized so by the economists. Can you guys tell me what advancement BD people have made in terms of technology so far so as to claim a developed economy by 2041? A few pockets of industries here and there do not make a country developed.

I am talking here only about industrialization and not about the civic issues like waterlogging, good road and railway transport system, bridges, very bad road and transport system in both Dhaka and all other cities and towns, region-based centralized irrigation system, etc. It takes many many decades to build all these things. In terms of civic facilities, BD will certainly develop these things, but it will be just enough to fulfill the criteria of a developing country for many many decades to come.

You are wrong again. By 2080 China will be developed like Advanced developed country, before 2050 China will become middle/moderate developed country and by 2025 China will be developed country or even before as China is approaching to the threshold per capita gross national income to be considered as developed country.

Am I wrong or you always come with your circular argument? Who can beat a country whose people love to win in talking competition instead of seeing the logic in an argument with a clear mind? When BD is still a Traditional society, China is a developing country even after so many developments.

But, you guys predict a developed BD, whatever may be the scale, by 2041 without going through the process of developing. Neither the GDP will be large nor the progress in the quality of life will improve except for some people. It will remain a gutter country as it is now when it is 2041.

Definitely if Bangladesh can not cross the threshold it can not be a developed country. Hasina said that based on per capita GNI estimate.

So, at least produce the sewing machines and needles and claim BD a developed statussame as Germany. Who stops you guys to claim a super-developed status in the PDF? It is free for all to say anything he likes. But, do not forget to build the computer-operated lathe machines that produce the body parts of a sewing machine.

Do some nation-building research and talk big. Since when Hasina is a Prophet of future? She always talks faltu things, and you guys here start dancing!!

We are talking about low developed country status not advanced developed country like Germany.

How do you define Croatia, Latvia, Romania and even Saudi Arabia as developed country which doesn’t produce anything as according to your logic one country needs to have heavy industries like that of advanced developed country to be considered as developed country? Or these countries should not be considered as developed country?

Talk about BD and not about other countries' development. Who stops you from declaring BD a lowly developed country today because it has been developing more than @6.5% for the last few years? Why wait til 2041? BD is already a developed economy we must claim.

If optimism is foolish so is your pessimism.

The govt is making bold predictions because it has had a decent track record and thats why many people find it believable. You on the other hand are ranting anonymously.

Also you keep repeating the 'sewing machines and needles' line. Do you realise that BD produces billions of medical needles every year? These are precision clinical needles and your worried about sewing needles?.

The reason BD does not produce sewing machines and needles is because it does not make economical sense - its nothing to do with ability.

@bluesky is not a falseflagger. I may be a "new member" here but I have been following this section of PDF for more than half a decade now (P.S.- I am also the first person to call out Raita-Al-Biriyani on his fake ID).

I have been observing the posts of regular members here including his.

Don't always agree with his opinions or tone but he means well for BD.

However, I rate his harsh criticisms of BD way higher than the obviously fake, rosy pictures some members here try to paint.

Optimism is certainly not foolish, but it must be based on reality seen in the performance of the people and government so far. We have to ask what are the necessary ingredients for development. GDP itself talks less comparing to the ground reality. Say something about building sewing machine factories. Has BD done it when the PM talks of an impossible Jet plane project?

Talk about waterlogging. Has it been solved except big talking every year? How about building power stations by the BD people themselves or an important bridge? How about building our own airports, railways, seaports, and highways with our own knowledge-based manpower instead of Chinese/ Japanese money and manpower, etc. etc.? When the manpower is not developed the country is not also developed.

Am I wrong to say that unless many difficult things are not undertaken by a country's people themselves, the talk of development to me sounds very hollow? Do you think Japan developed with the help of any other country? How about all the EU countries? it is the same. The US also same. China is following the same path as all other countries. Its people in a specified field learn from other countries and use that knowledge to do/build everything by themselves.

I do not think, the progress of BD today does show a bright better future. It is only because the govt and society have failed to organize the systems that will create a knowledge-based society to take the country to the next stage of development. We better do not talk a hollow developed country goal for 2041. A country cannot grow on one sector and its development cannot continue only with the foreigners' participation.

Exactly it's my opinion too. Here most of peoples speak of the language of Bangladesh govt, that Bangladesh is doing great, Bangladesh will be doimg this and doing that, this investment will come, that will happen bla bla bla ..... It's not new in Bangladesh.
When BNP almost destroyed electricity sector, when in pg hospital man and dog was in same room, still khaleda zia was harping that Bangladesh is doing very well in every sectors and only awami league is spreading lie Because they are Indian agent.
Now awami league ( including leader),and it's side kicks are spreading the same lies .
Yes in few sector awami league performed very well but others are just bogus.
So now it's now not unexpected that awami league guys will tag anyone as the enemy of Bangladesh ,false flagger who will criticise the works of government.
And exactly this is the real dirty culture that Bangladeshis need to stop.
If you oppose me, you are the worst person in this world.
If you slightly disagree you are, "once good man and now became bad", this is our mentally.
The real problem is our intolerance .
