What makes you jitter? The thread is not about China. It is about BD. Our GoB always speaks of BD becoming a developed country in 2041 when its LDC status will remain effective until 2024. Open the first post to know about this thread. This is why I compared BD with China and India who are developing for many decades.

But, do you think with all its continued industrialization China will become a developed country or a consumer society like Japan/Taiwan by 2041? You are living in an illusion. I see hundreds of thousands of Chinese doing menial jobs in Japan to earn money to support their poor families in China.

Read the definition of a developed country. Only many industries to produce low-quality goods, heavy pollution and a few beautiful cities like Shanghai and Shenzen do not make a country to be called developed. At least get rid of Peking pollution that creates havoc. A developed country does not have that kind of pollution. A few trillion dollars will be needed to build pollution-free new industries there. Can you do it by 2041?

China will certainly will be developing after 2041. I ask you and BD brats like @UKBengali to read the feature below to widen knowledge:

MARK COLVIN: Pundits have been saying for years that China would soon become an economic super-power but now the Chinese Government wants the world to believe that it may not happen for another three-quarter of a century.

China's released a new report claiming it'll take its place alongside the world's most developed nations by 2080.

It says China will become a "moderately developed country" before the middle of this century.

What makes China different from most other countries is we never care about so called future predictions, back in the 1960's western economists used to predict that it's impossible for every China to have a shirt cause it is beyond the means of the earth resources. Chinese people just work and make things happen instead of keep fortune telling what good will come in the future, if you don't work hard to get something, that something won't just fall in your lap.

You claim you do not believe in future predictions. However, you are so fond of supporting the future prediction by BD brats for BD becoming a developed country only by 2041 when China itself will not be the one to achieve that status by 2080. India may take another 100 years to reach that stage, although by seeing many of India's shortfall in human capacity and social awareness I doubt it will ever reach that stage.

How do you know what will happen in 2080? in 1990's people predicted that China's GDP won't get close to US in 100 years but now it's with 10-15 years, predictions are made to be laughed at by later generations. China now is a middle income country with the biggest middle class in the world, bigger than US in population, we don't make predictions but we make goals, next goal is to become the No.1 economy in the world, China is already the world biggest trading, industrial and manufacturing nation with a goal of becoming No.1 in every industry, so when you compare Bangledash and India, don't drag in China there.

Oh, this is my thread yesterday.

Chinese clean energy buses

China's BYD to supply electric vehicles to US state of Georgia

BYD to Deliver First Electric Buses to Montreal and Longueuil

you said:A developed country does not have that kind of pollution. A few trillion dollars will be needed to build pollution-free new industries there. Can you do it by 2041? Sorry, what do you say? I don't understand.

China dominates Europe's wind energy market: IEEFA

Goldwind renewable energy giant backs Australia’s first wind power technology test lab

China's Qinghai province runs on renewables for 216 hours

You are very interesting. Sorry, I don't know who lives in fantasy. But according to what I saw in Taiwan news and Taiwan politics TV program. I don't think Taiwanese will agree with you about China 2041. Oh, sorry, Shenzhen is richer than Taiwan. Of course, why do I see so many Japanese actors working in China to support their poor families?

It's only a small part.
https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/even-japanese-actors-use-huawei-in-china.542250/

Don't talk to me about Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

I'd rather talk to you about Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Qingdao, Dalian, Urumqi.........

BTW, China's industrialization degree beyond your understanding.

Do you yourself know what will happen in 2080? Please read all the previous posts.
Simple. do you think how many developed countries will reach the China's industrialization level?

Why are you so obssessed with China, when you do your comparison, don't have to drag China in every time, we have our own goal. Our immediate goal is to eliminate poverty by 2020, four years ahead of your plan.

You answered your own question in the post. China will be considered as Advanced Developed Country by 2080, Moderate Developed Country before 2050 and Lower Developed Country by 2025. With the same criteria why do you think India and Bangladesh will not break into the developed country list by 2040s?

Do you know the definition of developed country? Why do you think developed country means it has to be same as UK or USA?

I believe you know developing country has various stages so is true for the developed countries.

See the link below who are currently considered as developed country:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developed_country

There beside Saudi Arabia countries like Croatia, Latvia, Romania etc. were considered as developed country.

This is following the definition of World Bank:

According to the World Bank the following 81 countries (including territories) are classified as "high-income economies".[17]As of 2019, High-income economies are those that had a GNI per capita of $12,056 or more - in 2017.

The terms of developing and developed are outdated, countries rise and fall, what happens today won't hold true tomorrow, a superpower can lose its status in a couple of decades.

Rather than pass snide comments that help no one (including the poor in Pakistan), please read the following. Poverty in Pakistan also affects you personally, if you live there. @Homo Sapiens bhai.

Bragging do not require reading.

On the point:
BD is fully capable of meeting the target. Hasina is doing a great job.

I did not answer anything. Ask the famous economists of the world to know what will happen to BD economic status only in the very near 2041. You are no economist.

Its not about economy but determined by per capita GDP. To be considered as developed or high income country one country needs GNI per capita of $12,056 or more - in 2017 for the year 2019.

How do you define why countries like Croatia, Latvia etc. are considered as developed country? Are they equal developed like UK or USA? As according to you one country needs to be developed like USA or UK to be considered as developed country.

The economy without industrialization support is very fragile. For example, Russia. I remember Russia's per capita GDP in 2015 was 15000 USD., but in 2016, its per capita GDP was 8000 USD....

Saudi Arabia and Qatar is a developed country. but...

@bluesky by the way. That's why Taiwanese do not agree with you about China 2041. Xiamen is more developed than most Taiwan cities.

I don't disagree with you on that part. One country definitely needs a solid base for development and diversification to avoid middle income trap. But what we are discussing here is theoretical definition of developed country. However to @bluesky deVeloped country means only when a country become develop like USA or UK.

Sorry, I might have overlooked it. Of course, a country should be a diversified economic structure.
