Good to see..Yes we didn't had any major accidents this time.. But i say we should improve sanitations on tains and platforms. RPF should take notice of urination on railway premises. I found improvement in food supplied by IRCTC .
During rush hours people who took un reserved tickets barge into reserved section and ask them to adjust:hitwall:.We should modernise our toilet on board..It should have a septic tank to avoid human paste on tracks which looks pathetic.
And another matter I want to say .. visakhapatnam is city from andhra pradesh but it is under control of east coast railway division(bhubaneshwar - odisha) instead of South central division. And Ecor members are least bothered about vizag.Even vijaywada (SCR- which has 13 platforms) looks better than vizag(ECOR -with 8 platforms) while later one is leading industrial city :hitwall:

It will take some time for zero accident rate but godspeed to this initiative.

Zero accident rate is like Six Sigma concept, moving more towards it means less price of non conformance as well better control and development of Indian railways.

In 2012 the committe report suggested 20,000cr investment to make railways safe, this would include automated signaling system and automated gates unmanned crossing. Govt is working on implementing the same.

Pilot projects for automated gates closing mechanism is being developed with ISRO. The Engines will have gps system that will be mapped using GAGAN, thus when a train will approach close to a gate the automated siren will start and will close the gates. Few demo runs have been already done and soon they should be working towards doing final operation clearance and then deployments.

Up gradation of toilets is work in progress and might take more than 5yrs to complete given vast range of operating trains that we have. Furthermore the rail safetly and cleanliness lessons will be made part of education curriculum to ensure that people are aware of it and it gets into habit.
