The absolute rulers obviously. Is that not obvious? There can be no accountability when the people have little or no say at all in the main decision making processes.

In any case there are 1 billion more important matters in this world than this case. While this case, that we do not know much about, has been discussed hundreds if not thousands of people in both KSA and Pakistan have suffered from judicial injustices let alone other areas of the world. But since this dude is apparently some "star" in Pakistan he gets all the attention.

He claims to be an intellectual and yet he goes to Saudi Arabia and bashes the Saudis in public!!! Jeeez! How juvenile and silly can he get? That lal topi he wears seems to have melted his braincells.

I can't believe he is considered one of the foremost 'defense analysts' of Pakistan and a darling of the Pak media! His rants including planting the Pak flag on the Red Fort (Gazwa e Hind) and that the Indian army ran from the battlefield in the 1965 war against Pakistan after being chased by Muslim ghosts with shining swords riding on horseback are classic gems!

Such are the morons who are considered 'defense experts' in Pakistan! No wonder the level of discourse on Pak media has hit its nadir! (not that Times Now is any better! )

But knowingly you came on this thread and posted...?The concern is towards those of us who lacks apathy for a Citizen of Pakistan...this is what I said in my post # 51 (again stated below):

It is...not to mention the behavior Pakistanis have to face at hands of Saudi officials working at the KSA's Airports...but look at us...no apathy at all on the predicament of a Pakistani Citizen!!!!!..and the ones who are mentioning here the similar plight of other common Pakistanis inside and outside Pakistan are a bunch of hypocrites who are NOT able to see the common denominator here which is "CITIZEN OF PAKISTAN" irrespective of RACE, COLOR, CREED,RELIGION and ETHNICITY...what a sorry state of affairs...

For me he is just a Pakistani Citizen whose plight should NOT be a matter of mockery and laughter by fellow Pakistani Citizens at least on a forum such as PDF where on one hand a sense of Patriotism is valued as a key trait of being a Pakistani but on the other hand on certain occasion all this notion of a United Nation goes to dust just because someone does not belong to your school of thought, your ethnicity, your religion, your creed etc etc ... this is what irks me and this is what my rant is all about. This is not a question of Zaid Hamid, I have same sensitivities may be more for a common Pakistani bearing the similar fate inside and outside Pakistan...and I stand behind each and everyone of them if not physically then to a minimum at-least symbolically.

I have not much to counter your post with as I agree with the fundamentals of your post. Considering the usual trolling on PDF your post is an example of how to get your points across in a sane and intelligent manner.

As long as you and others realize the absolutely crucial difference between a few people in power (the decision makers - in this case regimes) and the Arab people (450 million people) you won't see me complaining. Not that I waste my time on people that cannot make such an distinction in the first place.

In any case criticizing 90% of all regimes/militaries/clergy/people/institutions of importance in the MENA region and Muslim world, especially as a foreigner, will get you in trouble. That's just the reality of life in the MENA region and Muslim world. It's been the case for decades. Neither KSA, Pakistan, Iran or Tajikistan (to name some countries) are the equivalents of Denmark.

Also lastly lashes in Islam, including those in KSA are not meant to cause bodily harm but are used as a corporal punishment and mostly as humiliation. Nor are they given at once obviously.

As I told some weeks if not months ago (now) then I don't know the details of this case so I won't comment on it but it should not really come as a surprise that regimes have a hard time accepting criticism.
