this may also be a test case for PM IK, lets see how he chose one, merit is one thing he emphasis upon.

if an incidence has so much weightage (of course besides career services) then it is to be seen in different scenario from the time it happened and the time of selection as a chief.

team around PM is also a factor but frankly who has experience for selection. to me it has always been a political decision based on mere politics.

lets see what happen this time.

In my humble opinion, AM Jawad Saeed and Haseeb Paracha are the strongest contenders despite being at the lower end of the list.

AM Noman and Zaheer are serving at, if I can dare say that, 'dead-end' appointments.

Just like AM Arshad Malik. He was the senior most and a great gentleman officer but he didn't make the cut.

However, we can expect the PM to make the right choice. The past two years have probably given him a great insight into the PAF owing to the security situation.

Unfortunately, this mentality has actually cost Pakistan half of its piece and also has it considered a backward corrupt society.
Instead of merit - the absconder of Burma was praised as president for his near British good looks while he sweated his time away in 65 and withered onto his seat.

I think it's already decided and the new chief must have been informed too. It's just a matter of not announcing it publically yet.
