Despite heavy discussion and trolling regarding the head gears, still have some doubt in ma brain
Did anybody here notice the helmets over here, a lots of them be it camo one or norml one are attached with the NVGs holding stations, if it's not atleast holes are der to fix the clips over there and our GOI is not at all going to giv each n every troops a NVGs for their personal standard equipmnt . So i assume that rifles, helmets, kneepads all are given by the US counter part as a friendly gesture.
Any correction will be appreciated.
I am not privy to current exercise information but the exercises that were held in 2010, helmets, kneepads, vests were issued by the US Mil complete with camouflage covers. One can just search Y/A 2010 and you will see the equipment loaned/lent to us. I MUST ADD though, that after 2010, our soldiers got better personal safety equipment . IN fact, YA 2012 held in India had our soldiers wearing camouflage covers on the psuedo M1 type helmets, in addition to kneepads and elbow pads. MUVs (Multiple Utility Vests) were alse seen to be getting of better design and build. All I can say - and I hope all will agree with me - that with every exercise with other countries ( who have the equipment to show), our soldiers are getting better and better PSEs.
As regards your point about NVG sockets on the helmets, if you observe all the pics of the troops in airborne exercises (para-drops), you will see the clips covered with tape. On defence forum India, there are lovely videos of our troops in exercise action - well shot and a lots of closeups.
