It's a mistaken report, those 8 were reprimanded, not arrestted. Li wenliang was one of them, and the reprimand was a mistake by the local police and corrected by the central government, those officers were all duly punished.
China is not responsible, the virus is. AIDS was brought in to China by an American in early 1980's, it causes so many deaths ever since, but we always say how many deaths are caused by AIDS, never said how many deaths are caused by US.

This whole thing was a mistake. You only "corrected" the mistake after things went awry. Which is exactly the point if this was any other democratic country where people had the right to speak up, this situation would be different. Every media in the country would report it with extreme caution and global media would've picked it up, and other countries might have put restrictions to avoid the spread. Unfortunately, all this didn't happen because commies wanted people not to panic, feel safe when it isn't.
I can understand the distress, but by the forums own rules asking questions and criticism is not ban worthy.
