Sadly you are right, south asians are very very racist, especially about skin colour.

All races admire whites. The preference for lighter skin exists in every race including the blacks! Two things are what every humans look into: Sharp, symmetric face and body as well as lighter skin color. Something bad, but inherent character of all humans. In the case of South Asia, people gets divided as castes and classes on this basis. Some intelligent people thousands of years ago, created this to prevent miscegenation, perhaps.

In ancient East Asia, lighter skin was seen as preferable due to the fact that richer people could afford to stay indoors most of the day, while the poor laborers had to work in the field all day so they had darker skin. It was an indicator of a socioeconomic divide (the opposite is true today... richer people prefer to get tanned to show they can afford to have regular vacations).

The same was true in the West itself, even Queen Victoria was known for applying toxic whiteners to her own face in order to look paler (which caused significant damage to her skin). Whereas today they prefer to get tanned.

The logic was that people who had to work outside in the sun all day were of a lower economic class. But that hasn't been true for a good few decades now, it's time to put the old mentality aside, especially now that it has been unfortunately mixed up with post-colonial racist ideas.

I also.like white skin... but many goras don't have a great complexion. .. which means that the pores in the skin has to be tight and nice oils secreted. also people who eat non vegetarian food smell dirty. also indian who eat oily and masaledaar foods also have bo. skin has to be soft to touch. if you lightly pinch the fair parts of hands or hip it has spring back quickly and have a nice pink colour. that's my thought on skin.

And if you are aware members of such international forums do have some knowledge and acumen for discussing all kinds of matters of regional countries and world affairs including social issues which also directly or indirectly affect them. Take for example this skin tone issue which indeed is risking the physical and sexual security of foreigners specially Western/European woman tourists who visit India. Many of these foreign woman tourists have been raped or molested in India due to fair complexion so how on earth discussing this social issue of India becomes obsession ?
