You don't look like a Bihari!

Gangs of wasseypur put the ultimate Bihari stereotype for others
My all-time favorite part 1 and 2. But part 3 faces controversy. Not making part 3... very sad. Why some politicians and social so-called leaders force not to make such movies. Director faces too much opposition.

I heard so many rave reviews about it that I decided to give a go. Turned out to be absolute gunk.
Not a fan of Sardar Khan? That's blasphemy!

Not aware of the situations behind not making part 3 though, but yeah it's sad indeed

A shame, Biharis have accomplished a lot. Being a nationalist doesn't mean you have to disown your ethnicity.

ethnicity is nothing but another barrier in underdeveloped countries. ethnicity should be ditched and ethnicity politics forever sent to the dustbin of history.

Our Biharis are one of the most patriotic. It was the Bihar regiment that fought against Chinese aggression last year. Speaking of Bihari sentiments, are they respected in Pakistan?

The anti Bihari rhetoric was quite evident during the pandemic as it is now. The Bihari farmers have been sidelined as well with their ongoing protests against central regime.

can you or anyone else in your family still speak Bihari?

lol, my dad and nana used to say a few words randomly. sometimes i try to slip in a few bihari words randomly just to annoy my mum, but she tells me to not dirty my tongue and speak in our mother tongue (urdu). i have never heard my mum speak any bihari words, but she understands a few words.

No farmer from Bihar is doing protest against the farm laws, its only farmers from Punjab.

Bihari is not a language.

Bihari subgroup languages are mainly Bhojpuri, Magahi and Maithili. Bhojpuri folks have their own campy film genre which includes Bhakt inspirational movies these days as bhakts are mainly from Bihar. 8-)

Among these three languages Maithili is closest to Bengali in spoken form, and uses a script also pretty similar to Bengali and Assamese. This is because of Geographic proximity to WB, Assam and Northern Bangladesh.

However all my supposed "Bihari" friends in Dhaka who were descended from Murshidabad Nawab's court folks use Chosht Lakhnavi Urdu to communicate. I used to know a lot of terms and a few words of Urdu Shay'ri, but with time, have forgotten most. Their culture is actually quite different than that of common folks in Bihar, different class I guess. Most learned Muslim families in Calcutta used Urdu inside the household.
