Firstly they are giving us loan. Secondly, only their companies will work on the project. Thirdly, no tendering of the said projects. Koi aik kaam is hakumat ka sahi nahi.

Sir soft loans are technically not regarded as investments but in this case the word investment can be used. I would try to explain it further as per my limited understanding of the Pak-China deal.

1. Chinese companies will be building & operating some of these utilities for which they are getting the loan from quasi-sovereign Chinese Banks. These are FDI and hence can be regarded as pure investment in Pakistan by China. Any invest requires a return and hence Chinese have a contract with Pakistani Govt which assures them a minimum 13 % (not sure) or so return. China has adopted the same model world wide.

2. This is not a purely strategic investment but an economic one as China has huge piles of dead cash not earning any interest. The US, EU and Japan Bonds have a very low rate of interest so hence Chinese are investing in Asian and African countries. Pure Economics !!

3. Some loans may be given to Pakistani companies or Govt (like line of Credit or LCs as we say in Banking) so they would be just loans and not investments but here in India we classify them as investments too.

4. The other thing Chinese do is provide loans to Pakistani/Indian companies but these loans can be only be utilized for buying chinese equipment. They cannot be classified as investments

Well that was my point. Either you see a substantial opportunity within legal and constitutional framework to use (I don't see any at the moment) or patiently wait for the next elections. In the interim be positive and create good examples for people to take notice and hope for the best.
