The Yemeni military has announced the manufacture of a medium range ballistic missile dubbed the Qaher M2.

The domestically-built missile, which weighs 350 kilograms and has a range of 400 kilometers, was unveiled during a ceremony on Tuesday.

According to a statement released by the Yemeni army, the Qaher M2 was announced after three successful test launches on Saudi military facilities.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces against Saudi targets are carried out in retaliation for Riyadh’s military aggression against its impoverished neighbor, which was launched in March

The United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, says the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of at least 10,000 Yemenis and left 40,000 others wounded.

SANA'A, March 29 (Saba) - The Yemeni army on Tuesday revealed a new locally-made powerful ballistic missile, M-2, which was successfully tested and entered into service, the army said in a statement seen by Saba.

"Two years of unjust Saudi aggression war on Yemen, we simply response with our new announcement of joining Kaher M-2 ballistic missile into front lines, which was developed by Yemeni developers of SAM 2 missile," the statement read.

The new ballistic missile has a great effective destructive.

The statement said the missile has a range of 400 km and carries a warhead weighing 350 kg and its accuracy ranging between 5-10 meters.

That type of missiles can be used for short range rockets but not ballistic missiles as SAMs don't have that type of range.
