Another demonstration is planned next saturday.

I thought only we were that violent but have to say we got tough competition:rofl:

Highest tax ratio is in France so I guess its all about taxation

France's actually the champion of Europe when it comes to taxation. Taxes to GDP ratio amounted to 48,8% of the GDP. Recently, government's revenues from taxes reached more than €.1,038 trillion.

Simple solution: spend less on bombing others and trying to be a great superpower, and more on your own people.

reminds me of PTI demanding resignation of Pervez Musharraf.

@Vergennes , I heard that Le Pennand the others in her Russian financed party are also supporting the protests? Is that true and what are the chances of Marina LePenevskaya to be the next President of France?

I hope it won’t ever happen...

Well, basically anyone who's against Macron and his policies are supporting the yellow vests and are blaming the violences that happened on Macron who closed the doors of negociation with the movement and is deaf concerning the demands of the people, thus forcing them to radicalize.

As for Marine becoming the next President of France,it's hard to say. She probably might not even run in 2022,thus giving her place to someone else. (slim chances, but not impossible) Her party at least might gain popularity due to the growing discontent about Macron and his policies. (Her party is now polling first for the European elections, recently toppling Macron's)

I actually believe the next presidential election will see a candidate from the far right and far left competing against each other in the 2nd round... which is pretty scary. (For exemple, large part of young people turn to far right or far left parties,Macron at 100% lost the "old electorate" (old people, retirees),they will probably either turn to far left or far right parties after imposing them tax increases...)

I don't believe classical old political parties will get any more momentum (socialists,republicans...),but only time will tell. :-)

Demonstrations were held in Belgium
Quite interesting, there are some real sh1theads ruining it all.
What is more interesting is the apparant divide between Flanders on 1 side and Walloons on the other.

Flanders 5(Ostend):
The whole 30 of them managed to disrupt traffic

Walloons:

These pictures really don't do any justice, but any video's I can find refuse adblock so yeah...

In Brussels the whole country joined up and things got really grim as well.

The French take their rights very seriously, mate. Americans might make offensive jokes about them but when it comes to fighting for one's fundamental rights, Americans are sheeple while French go up in arms.

Just because they keep a low profile internationally doesn't mean they can't get things done. :)

Would it not be easier for Macron to just eliminate taxes for electric vehicles which will bring down the prices drastically by that much margin, take the market by storm and force other regular automobile makers to also adopt the new trend?

This would not only get him his Paris Accords target before time, but also give people an alternative and slowly move towards his eventual goal of taxation.

What's the fvcking point of taxing everyone when they are finding it increasingly costly to manage their lifestyles?

So France is about to go down on the populist slide as well it seems... The EU will be more and more divided in the future from which only the enemies of it will benefit.

Damn, I thought the French were beyond all this. Why destroy your own country?
Why does everyone look for favour from the government? Work hard and improve your life!
