Xinjiang imports seafood from Pakistan by cargo flight
Source: Xinhua| 2019-11-14 17:06:03|Editor: ZX
URUMQI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- A cargo flight loaded with a total of 9.25 tonnes of seafood from Pakistan arrived at the airport of Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Thursday.

It marks the first regular international cargo flight between Kashgar and Pakistan, according to the Xinjiang Airport Group Co., Ltd.

Taking off from the Pakistani port city of Karachi, the cargo flight is scheduled to be operated once per week.

The seafood imported on the inaugural flight includes pomfret, hairtail and shrimp.

In July, the city government of Kashgar rolled out a special subsidy policy for the cargo route.

Kashgar, in the westernmost part of China near the border with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, was an important staging post on the original Silk Road and has been revitalized as a bustling hub of business and the starting point of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

. .
If there is a bullet train there between Kashgar and Pakistan, the cost will be much cheaper I guess.
There is a future plan but not of a bullet one. That will be the final project of CPEC and will reduce the cost of transportation. 24/7 365 days.:-)

.
This is why I think the fear of the West regarding Xinjiang is that it will become developed and this could benefit Pakistan, Central Asia too with the trade & economic links.

As China invests so many billions in the region, its a win-win for Pakistan too as allies.

.
Is there fresh and healthy fish available in local Pakistani markets?
I recently saw a program of Mubashir Luqman who says, Pakistanis are consuming rotten fish, which is as old as 6 months, of course chemicals are used to make it usable.
This food export business, while locals are dying of hunger makes no sense.
French style revolution is awaiting Pakistan, where all the hungry and poor will raid villas, around them.

Yes it is available, if you are willing to pay the right price.

@Topic, a great initiative.
