Uncle Sam is the biggest Businessman in the world,
Unlike Other Countries Majority of Chinese policies are for long term gain. China invested in Pakistan when no one even wanted to visit Pakistan.
Its not just business its build strategic blocks for your future sport.
China vs India, China is stronger than Indian in any possible way. Having a friend like Pakistan helps china in many ways as well
Strong Military, Large Population, Natural resources, Gateway to the Islamic world ( Oil ),
Pakistan with strong economy & Military can help much more China than it can ever do in the current condition.
In future Territory Claims China will always have Pakistani Backing. Pakistan has helped alot Russia, Uncle Sam, and China in Talks in Afghanistan.
With all its weakness Pakistan does have a clot around the globe specially in Islamic countries.
A strong ally who will protect China no matter what is a huge advantage to them, hence the investment in Pakistan.

The only reason China is investing not that much is Pakistan itself ( E.G Politcians , GOP ) if they bring reforms and bring increase middle classes to purchase power you will see more investment coming.

Our relationship with China started when Pakistan in the very beginning, recognized China as a independent country. Where's business in that and what we took from China in return ?
This is what Indian are unable to understand till date that the relationship b/w China and Pakistan is not of Business interest.

but dumb pakistani leadership and establishment would rather be slaves rather than have any leadership which is independent of any monopolisitc establishment. too much at stake here for them.

Can you think of any other foreign countries like to go to Pakistan to exploit? No investment, no progress, China learned this since 1980's, When we opened doors to foreign busniesses to come to China to "exploit" us.

VN-CN relationship is bad, but Cnese investors still come to avoid US-CN trade war and waiting for benefit from VN-EU FTA There r many Cnese industrial parks in VN and they pay good salaries to VN staff (from 300 to 4,000 usd/month) and most of Cnese managers r very nice now ( after being beaten so bad in 2014 conflict wt factories were burned ).

But I never heard any huge CN industrial park in Pak that help Pak boost her export.Only big debt for Pak in terrible CPEC project .

If CN really want to help Pak, then CN should support Pak to get a good FTA wt EU where CN still can export wt low tariff...but CN investors helped VN, a bad small brother, instead.
