Britain did not have 3 aircraft carriers at that time. Also it was the Nuke capable Vulcan bomber that managed to penetrate Argentinian air defense that subjugated the Argentinians. The threat of Buenos Aires being nuke was real enough for them to surrender. The airstrike brought the Argentinians back to the reality that they were only a third world ex-colonial state with no military power.

WTF? that would NEVER happen. Plus even if they did the US would be forced by treaty to throttle the UK in response.

The UK could not attack the Argentine mainland so they had to keep the fight in the islands...otherwise those Vulcans would have gone directly to key military installations in Argentina.
