single seat LCA first flight

LCA maiden flight, hahahahahha:rofl::rofl::rofl:

What's more ironic is that the LCA is not a new venture for the Indians, in the past they have had experience with the likes of Kiran Mk I & II, Ajeet was another conversion while the HF-24 was meant to be indigenious, albeit all with mixed results.
For those who thrive in oblivion and compare the LCA with JF-17, need a reality check as within a decade the JF-17 has excelled from a drawing board to serial production with first Squadron inducted, while the LCA has been around for almost a quarter of century with an uncertain future.

JF-17 was a joint venture with pakistan, JF-17 was ready in the late 90's Itself, But when India bought Sukhoi 30 MKI , Pakistan wanted china to make it even more powerful... and it took you another 7-8 years to make it according to the needs of pakistan....

Imagine That A joint venture by itself took you 18 years to Induct... LCA which started in 1983 was finished in 2001 and due to changing needs of IAF, LCA took much more years, And After the IAF conducted multi-disciplinary trial of LCA The IAF Is impressed by this machine... So there is nothing to burn about it... atleast I can say that its ours... However the Mods have warned me not to ask pakistans contribution to JF-17....

lols, when i was five i used to ask my Indian cousin when will India make its LCA he said after 10 years, when i was 15 i ask em again he said after 2 or 3 years, and now i am 18 he is saying that it will take another couple of years :rofl::rofl::toast_sign:

but it isnt a failure, LCA is............

Indian Members Muaff kar do yarr.. ghalti se Pakistan has got this plane and this is just one little 2.5 gen JF-17 all made by China and only painted by Pakistan. We are not match to you guys as you are super doper creatures with super alien tech in your hands. So please go take some water and let this little toy fly in Pak airs. I hope this little gadget would not have blow your night sleeps away. So take a chill-pill and stop jumping at every thread that has even number "17" in its title. Go cool yourself down and enjoy a happy life.

IAF to get 20 additional LCA Tejas soon

NEW DELHI (BNS): Indian Air Force will induct the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas after the initial operational clearance in December this year.

The aircraft will have both naval and air force version, according to a statement by the Indian Ministry of Defence.

A contract for procurement of 20 Tejas in Initial Operational Clearance configuration was signed with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd on March 31, 2006. These light combat aircraft are likely to be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) by March 2011.

"In addition to the above contract for 20 LCA, a proposal for procurement of an additional 20 LCA in Final Operational Clearance configuration is being progressed. The specifications of the LCA are as per the Air Service Requirements framed by the IAF,” Indian Defence Minister AK Antony told the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

The LCA, a project of Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), is the first supersonic fighter craft manufactured by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

The naval version of the LCA would be attached to aircraft carrier Gorshkov once it is ready for operations. HAL will manufacture 20 LCA for the Air force and another 20 for the navy.

come 2010 end tejas will have obtained IOC.......
wonder what argument my pak frnds will come up with.....hmmmmmm:rolleyes:

The Me 109 fighter of Luftwaffee in WWII had a combat radius of 350km and that was the earlier E version !!!
hey wait i just thought about a solution to inxrease tejas radius.......
you put a probe that can be used to fill the plane and it can remain in air longer...............hows that for an idea........

opps!!!!! i guess someone smarter than me has already thought of that........
something that looks like this...

and hence tejas can have longer combat radius.....

Suggest you return to your desk and do your home work first before any chest thumping. What you are claiming for the 90s was a feasibility study by Grumman on a project designated Sabre II.
JF-17 or rather the FC-1 didn't make news until mid-90s, even then there is confusion whether it was JF-17 or the J-10.
It doesn't need an armchair jockey to acknowledge that the JF-17 holds the record for being the first aircraft in history to be actually designed by an airforce (PAF) and then completed in record time.

Yea, during hostilities, escaping jet fighters usually engage the afterburner, if the statics given are correct, and if the LCA ever participates in any combat missions, while the tankers tend not loiter too close to the border, i leave the rest to your judgement.

In February 1992, CATIC (China Aero Technology Import and Export Corporation) invited the Pakistan to invest in the project in return for huge Transfer of Technology and participation in R&D of the project. Pakistan Accepted.

The First Flight was planned in 1996, but it got delayed because Pakistan wished to upgrade the characteristics in response to India's acquisitions of Su-30MKI. The project began to Stagnate. But in 1998, Pakistani PM's visit to China resulted in the continuation of the Programme.

In 1999, sanctions on Pakistan led to serious setbacks on the programme. Pakistan hoped to Install Western Avionics on the plane, which was now not possible.

Year 2001 saw the changes in approach to develop the Fighter plane. The development of Airframe was de-linked from the development of Avionics. The Comprehensive design was completed in September 2002 while the development of different aircraft systems progressed. The First Aircraft was assembled by May 2003.
