Plain and simple. I've had enough of has-been politicians, this guy's term was better, but he had so many years of unchallenged rule, he did not bring about change from the bottom up, at best he could only give us a few more handouts per year from our newer status as an ally. Energy crisis problems started towards the end of his rule. His own messing about in politics and intervention led to the horrendous PPP government that followed him. You can safely bet we're still paying for his mistakes today.

Other than Karachi there is hardly a place where he can get a vote pool sufficient enough for NA. Only MQM can propel him to National Assembly by providing him space which they wont, not until Altaf is at the helm of affairs. Using an ethnicity's tag to shield him from a trial may have saved him some space, but this tag has certainly restricted his political space as well.
