@Abii... thanks for the insight into the Saudi education system...Do agree that the Wahabi controlled education has a lot to do with the insecurity that they might have if the rest of the populace becomes too educated.

I was merely trying to point out to the career course streams like medicine, technology, engineering and science where they pay heavy sums to get professors from abroad, but their own citizens would never take up these teaching jobs in the institutions.

I honestly don't know what to believe. The Saudi society is even different from the rest of the Arab world. The family that rules the country has even named the country after itself. Religion, culture and way of life are dictated by the ruling elite and the people worship this way of life. In Turkeministan and North Korea you see the same thing. Of course it isn't like NK but very close to how the Turkemen society is ruled and goverened. Iran is also a theocracy but the lack of tribalism and the strong secular tradition of the country (Iran was secular for a good 70 percent of the 20th century) has always pushed back the mullahs into a corner and forced them to calm down and change their ways to please the people. Shia Islam and Wahabism are also two different religions. Shia Islam is much more modern compared to the wahabi ideoligy which is perhaps the most violent and repressive form of Islam to date.

Regarding their people. Well education has never been a big part of their society. The centers of science have always been in Iraq, Iran, Uzbekistan etc... The sheikhs have an iron grip over the society, it's even worse than Iran. For the better part of the last century this has been their way of life and it won't change anytime soon, at least not in the next few decades. You mix all that up and you have Saudi Arabia. They have also been unable to stop tribalism and that is also hurting them.
