Americans are boss of air warfare. I am pretty confident F-16s of Pakistani inventory will give Indian sukhois run for their money, even the Su-35 if they had it.

Yet to see how F-16 performs against Rafale, I think it will do well.

US product is overhyped. They have never met the real match.

Canard fighter are designed to overcome the shortcoming of conventional fighter like F-16. High speed , high attitude turning. (J-20,J-10, Typhoon, Rafale, Gripen) are the future.

I kind of agree that they didn't meet their match in Iraq or Afghanistan.

But if that F-16 really shot down the SU-30MKI with European upgrades, then it proved it's metal.

Su-30 MKI are shot down by JF-17 SD-10 missile. India are brief by Israel on AIM-120 missile capabilites and Israel special tailor made their ELTA jammer for IAF against AIM-120. But they have zero idea of electronic emission and capabilities of SD-10 BVRAAM and got shot down.

That is past but not now. China made their own engines. Chinese TVC is better than Russia TVC but achieving more responsive with moving petal rather than whole nozzle.

This is flawed argument.

USAF bring lot of muscle to bear in aerial engagements, and throws a potential adversary in complete disarray. American electronic warfare equipment is very effective, and 'cooperative engagement capabilities' are far ahead than the same of others (sensor fusion technologies).

Iraqi Air Force was very good in 1991. French F1 and Russian MiG-29 Jets were state-of-the-art at the time.
