the investment on the building is going to be hardly $1.7-2 bn , the rest $43 bn is going to be invested on Education , Medical , Sports , Entertainment , Parks , Houses , Power etc , why is it so hard for everyone specially Indians to understand that ?, you guys are fixated on one building which is hardly 4% of the entire project .

....................

So no 45 billion dollars investment? I thought your sources were reliable. That is sad. Pakistan needs foreign investment direly.

There is no mention of such news anywhere on our media not even on tribune. I saw that pamphlet circulating on internet yesterday. Most likely a fake otherwise our media would be serving Malik,s *** by now. Some people just cant bear with the fact that some development might be happening in our country. Secondly someone most likely photos-hoped and pasted that pamphlet a the bottom of news. No news channel is idiot enough to post that kind of news at the bottom and that also in green. Lamest photo shop ever.

Now that is what i call news with a web link included.

Pakistan’s dream to have world’s tallest building shattered
LAHORE: Pakistan’s plans to have world’s tallest building fizzled out on Friday after Abu Dhabi-based conglomerate denied having entered into any $45 billion investment treaty, SAMAA reports.
A few days ago the country’s biggest real estate group announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Group to develop mega real estate projects in Pakistan including construction of world’s tallest building in the port city of Karachi. The Pakistani group also announced that about 2.5 million Pakistanis will get jobs due to these projects.
All these claims proved hollow after Abu Dhabi group issued a clarification on Friday in major newspapers of the country, saying that it has not ‘undertaken or assumed any financial obligation or commitment to invest in this project and that there is no agreement to do so.’
"It is also unfortunate that discussions between the parties could not reach any conclusion and the memorandum of understanding has been cancelled," the Abu Dhabi Group said.
Observers believe such false reports about investment accord could not only hurt local group’s reputation but also overall investment climate in the country. – SAMAA

MOU was signed you idiot it is even mentioned in that note. They had already started searching for possible locations. They are the investors its not like we can rape them over it.

I dont know who is idiot...read 2nd last line before "Thank You"....MOU is cancelled....:cheesy:

Its good that a very very tall building is planned to be built in Pakistan. The only thing pakistan should now be considering is how to develop their economy , so that world-class companies can occupy those flats. This would be and should be a point of deliberation. Or else the investment will not be as fruitful as it is supposed to be for the pakistanis. If the pakistan's economy stays as it is, only pigeons and low-class traders will inhabit that massive structure.
