The US has to approve such upgrade, which under current conditions in the bilateral ties, is next to impossible.

A "JF-17TP - OZGUR" - would make much more sense ? Given how many airframes we will of JF17 compared to F16s ?

The reports claim that A Replacement of Mission Computer basically negates any need of source codes or OEM Approvals.
Fair comment. However there is a rather strong case for F-16s.
