When ? Now don't say that it was in 1996 , because it was not alliance. It was simply a movement when Jamat had the same goal to restore democracy . It was actually their plan of legalization of democracy the haram thing. Their were no alliance that time , no seat was shared with them . AL had candidates in all 300 constituencies.
Indeed. But although I didn't see their violence in out freedom war so I won't redirect the discussion to it ,but I saw jamati massacre during their govt and specially when they were in opposition after 2008 election, specially in 2013 they totally declared war against state not only against govt.
That continued till 2015 as a part of restoration of democracy !
I must remind you that you can't restore democracy by killing people and destroying people's property.
So those violence was just for their power and the power hunger was so naked that they started arson terrorism .
If BAL monopolied politics then it's only because BNP jamatis gave them the opportunity by their terrorism.
Now still BAL is playing the same cards that was given to them by the violence if Jamat shibir.
I have no disagreement here too . But it should be politics ,not any anti state act.
Make a political party like AKP and make leaders like Erdogan , I will be the first one who will be voting them .
But if you spread violence through the politics specially using religious sentiment ,I will be the first one who will finish you if I have this power.
Religion is to elevate human life ,not to suppress it only to fill you bank account. It's actually called lamb coater beast ,not the true religion that is meant to elevate mankind.
Do you think that I am against it ?
No I am not . And the process has been started . Just wait for another public usurp in future , because of trouble maker BCL and grassroot BAL with some criminal leaders.
No people shouldn't be given the right to vote criminals or killers . Not at all . People who will choose killers ,they aren't worthy of choosing rulers .
Because 30% can elect a criminal community by fptp in parliamentary system ,you can't overlook the percent .
Even if 90% vote for killers then for the sake of humanity we must think of the 10 % who will be under threat if a group come to power.
If your freedom of speech and voting cause disaster to other , I am against this system .
@mb444
We will have to agree to disagree.... i am a libertarian..... i can not accept that anyone has the right to dictate to anyone else who they can or can not accept. Democracy does not work like that.
Let people freely judge the merit of any political position. Anything else is a slippery slope to tyranny as BD experienced with unelected MPs.
Political violence has been part and parcel of BD politics. I have seen enough BAL lead violence first hand to know Jamaat is not comparable irrespective of what you say.
