Very good. If we throw an infinite amount of interceptor as a MARV, than it will hit one. So the issue now is a matter of cost. Countries have tried to intercept at mid range and boost phase because of cost. Even US cannot intercept all MIRV without going bankrupt.

Actually, china also do not have a working system. It had successfully tested interception of a missile at a controlled scenario. But not an actual scenario with decoys. I don't think mid course will work. At least not directing a KKV from the target country. The best result would be space based anti missile system.

That is why you need a mid course interceptor to hit it in mid-course before it reaches the terminal stage and before it deploys the warheads and the decoys. Because during mid-course, the missile is in space so you need a exo-atmospheric kill vehicle that will work in space.

China already sucessfully intercepted 1 satelite and 3 balistic missiles in space using this interceptor. I believe only US and China has such a exo-atmosheric Kill Vehicle.

US and China have successfully tested them. But we do not know the conditions. Even it they work ,they will work well enough to counter massive attacks that either country plus Russia can deliver. So this kind of ABM is for countries like Iran, North Korea and in China's case, India.

The russians had an anti sat weapon system operational as early as 1975. They are way ahead of the Chinese. The capability was developed to deter the US spy satellites if required and the shuttle.

actually,not only having Midcourse Interceptor can achieve the full proof security,as it is still difficult to achieve and if it fails ,you need a backup plan.you need all the three layers of BMD to achieve that.what India is doing is building BMDs for non MIRVed missiles.No country still now has achieved matured Midcourse Interceptor.India is planning to build Midcourse Interceptor,but only after completing Phase 2,that means completing the terminal level interceptor.every country followed this approach,except China.Don't know about Chinese terminal Interceptor.now,don't post info about SAMs.I'm talking about dedicated interceptors..

Mid-course Exo-atmospheric Kill Vehicle is still the best way of intercepting a ballistic missile once you have master the difficulties and have the technology.

China has no intention of deploying a National Missile Defense system. China is only testing and researching to keep up to date with the technology. China may use this mid course interception to deploy against countries like India or for point defense of high value asset.

I think the indicated decoys belong to the incoming BM, not the ABM.
