Sometimes, if a country is providing SEZ for external investmen, local labour laws becomes irrevalent.At the end of the day, it is the negotiation betweem states and Companies prevail here

And you end up with no labour force.
Does no one understand that in Pakistan you can tell them dont have food breaks they will accept it but tell them dont pray you may not have a factory left

Nope, no 15 x 5. There is 5 time of required prayers, only the prayer of 1 PM fall between the work hours (maybe in winter a second prayer too). 1 prayer take at most 15 mins, which can be adjusted in employees lunch time. In order to keep productivity intact, the employees can be rotated, meaning send few employees on lunch/prayer break while the other keep the systems running, when the first group comes back, the second group can go.



To many, it barely takes 15 mins, tbh. In US it is strict law, everyone has religious accommodations. Any employer who doesn't follow that can get sued in the blink of an eye.

No chinese will pay attention to your post. Just look at this thread, all of them ( chinese ) are supporting themselves and the employer and creating excuses for him. The only Pakistanis who are supporting them are atheist or secularist.

The company they're talking about isn't in SEZ exclusive for Chinese, so there's no point to talk about your imagined negotiation

i think it should be in contract . these lazy workers will go sleep and take rest while they have prayer break . china should not give them a space .

Workers should suggest them they just need 15 minutes for prayer.for this 15 minutes they can work half an hour more.

One thing kind of puzzles me, China has mega projects and workers and engineers working all across the Muslim world, Arab Gulf regions, central Asian countries, middle east, north Africa.. all those projects move smoothly without troubles and setbacks, but only the ones in Pakistan every now and then we hit some blocks or very bad press, really don't know what's going on but it is very strange..

You try doing what you do in Pakistan, in Arab countries ......... the truth is you don't dare do that. We your so called iron brothers and friends are here only where you can dump your cheap products and send prisoners from your jails. Our land gives you the fastest and safest gateway to outside world, and you still try making it look like a favor to Pakistan.

I have personally worked with 16 nationalities in Pakistan, not one of them ever even made a fuss like the Chinese employers make about religious rituals, I have a Chinese gym colleague who speaks fluent Urdu, he has been missing from gym for last two months, on inquiry I got to know that he has got job in Huwaei and sits late for work, everyone who is working for a Chinese employer has his own story to tell ...... whereas the US embassy (that Pakistanis think houses tanks and marines) has a mosque built inside for its Muslim workers.

You brought your prisoners from Chinese jail to build the Chinese embassy, God knows how many of them are still working on other projects. It has been Chinese culture to make their own people work like slaves, making people wear iron shoes since young age so they couldn't flee ... are some of the stories I have heard about commune China of past ... and now Chinese have brought this same attitude to Pakistan.

Only if the labor inspectors, the labor courts and manpower ministry of Pakistan weren't useless bunch of corrupt thugs ........ we would have seen how anyone including the Pakistani industrialist try treating their labor force like slaves.

In Pakistan most do not believe in secularism and expect Islam to prevail in policies at home or abroad.

If you have forgotten its the Godless miser greedy communists trying to restrict religious freedom of Pakistani workers in Pakistan ........ not some Pakistanis waging jihad in mainland China ......... against secularism or whatever.
