One question does cross my mind though: Why on earth to Pakistani Leaders NEED to come to India to pray to preserve their Chairs and their Heads? Why not do it in Pakistan itself? Or goD there has stopped listening to their prayers? :what:

Who really knows what these so called "politicians" actually use for a brain -- bombs going off all over Pakistan, this lune heading off to some place he's not welcome in - it boggles the mind - but then it Pakistani politicians we are talking of -- and while we are at it, Pakistani electorate, there is a link to displays of religiosity and the appearance of piety - curiously preventing bombs from
going off has little to do with any kind of religiosity as far both these politicians and the electorate are concerned.

Valid Q

However, its a Q of faith. Ppl need not go all the way to temples when God is everywhere.

@ the subject, I think the Head of the Dragah is whining. He should shut up & do as he pleases. Is he seeking publicity by making statements in advance ?

Displays of religiosity and appearances of piety are alright; nothing wrong with that at all. But why come across the border to do all that?

If he wanted to, he could have very well visited Data Darbar in Lahore for example? And prayed there instead. For whatever that he wants to pray for.

It might have even have had a POSITIVE spin-off in the sense that the PM of Pakistan is willing to go where the average Pakistani "Jaani" likes to and is able to go to.

Now Manmohan Singh is also going to come up against an "Election" hurdle. Will we see him going to Nankana Sahib to pray?
No chance.

More like grasping a last chance to travel with family at public expense on a mission they always wanted to.

Politics should be kept out of religious places (and sporting arenas).

As far as Politics goes... it hasn't played any role in PM's India visit. I believe our external affairs minister is going to have a luncheon with the visiting PM. Neither the holy place is denying him any access either.

It's a personal decision of one individual & has no role in any politics either. That's how I would interpret this whole scenario.

eating beef makes one brave  indian muslims need to throw away that cloak of cowardice they have worn for a time now, previously they were known for their guts, now they have simply given up to the dominating circumstances

Yeah, no problem if some folks want to send Beef as long as there is no Horsemeat in it. And should not be ridden with bacteria that can cause "Mad Cow Disease" or "Mad Mulla Disease".

No "Beef" with Beef otherwise. Nothing like a good Beef Steak.
