UP/bihar/bengal/gangetic plain in general is the most populous region in south asia. 1/3 of indians live in UP/BIhar/West Bengal alone. So it was the most productive area, hence the center of gravity.

Even the caste system like jats, gujjars, rajputs, sheikhs(brahmin converts in pakistan), exist across the border. I literally have genetic results on upper/mid castes of UP and they're not that different from eastern pakistanis. Granted pashtuns are not that different either from NW indians and eastern pakistanis, but phenotypically, eastern pakistanis look "desi" and there's a reason why Pakistan is classified as south asia across the world. Most pashtuns dont.

I did agree regarding the center of gravity. But center of gravity means jack shit in south asia since the whole region is very heavily populated, including the northwest region of india and eastern pakistan and they were part of south asia in all aspects, including those invasions.

A buffer state is a country lying between two rival or potentially hostile great powers. Its existence can sometimes be thought to prevent conflict between them.
However, not sure how this applies to pakistan though lol since eastern pakistan was part of south asia and western pakistan part of central/west asia? Pakistan wasnt a separate entity historically to be a buffer so again not sure what you're trying to argue there.

And since the caste system, languages, pheno, history, cultures as well to an extent are shared, wouldnt that make you similar enough in that "subjected" category?
