Women not required to cover faces, hands and feet under Sharia: CII

@RangeMaster

Not arguing for or against...but here are 7 other translations of the same verse - You've obviously used the one from Mohsin Khan

Sahih International: O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

Pickthall: O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

Yusuf Ali: O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Shakir: O Prophet! say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may be known, and thus they will not be given trouble; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Muhammad Sarwar: Prophet, tell your wives, daughters, and the wives of the believers to cover their bosoms and breasts. This will make them distinguishable from others and protect them from being annoyed. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful.

Mohsin Khan: O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

Arberry: O Prophet, say to thy wives and daughters and the believing women, that they draw their veils close to them; so it is likelier they will be known, and not hurt. God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.

Are you an Islamic scholar?

I am quoting what Islamic scholars have said.

s

Insh'Allah the shuttle-cock burka will go away.

Usually I go by the Yusuf Ali translation of the Qur'an.

Maybe you are right, I could be wrong.

Show me where in the Qur'an, where the word niqab is used.

Then I will stand corrected. I am only human.

Salah/namaz is one of the 5 pillars of Islam.
It is important.

What are 5 pillar of Islam:
1) Shahadah
2) Salah.
3) Zakat
4) Ramadan Fasting
5) Hajj

What does it shows?Quran doesn't have controversial translation. The translation can never be inverse whether by one translator or 100 of them.I quoted 3 pieces of Hadith from Saih Bukhari. What do you understand by them.

Maybe you could be right brother.

Alright, I'm going to ask a Mullah and my father about niqab. Although I have already asked my old father about this matter.

As per my knowledge, a woman can show the face, hands, and feet.

I am not talking about pillars of Islam. There are many things left if you follow these 5.These are base forming Islam. If you are right then what about Jaza Saza,Halal haram. There are thousands of hadith showing what does Holy Prophet SAW ordered in addition to those.

You are correct the Hadith are important too.

Sahih Al Bukhari, Tirmidhi, Sahih Muslim, etc, they are important too.

. . .
And he will give you his interpretation and then when you go to another he will give you his interpretation and the story continues.
Fact is if a lady is pious she will be with or without niqab and if she is a cheap slut she will be a slut even in a niqab. No point arguing over these issues when Islam is in your heart not on your garments

Insh'Allah.

I will go ask an Islamic scholar about this niqab issue.

Yes but a Mullah or an Alim is someone who is an expert in Islamic law, Qur'anic exegesis, who translate the Qur'an, etc.

Ibn Kathir I am familiar with.
How do we know they are familiar with it?
Beyond their attire which they seem tk standardize; what proof can they bring other than repeating a few verses in front of you and saying this is what they mean?

Do you try rechecking if it is what they are saying it is?
Their first language isn't arabic most of the tkme and 95% of the time they are repeating a translation of quran found at Urdu bazaar

Always better to research yourself in these times from at the least two or three different sources from different schools of thought
