What's new

Woman raped on Lahore Ring Road, infront of her two children.

I wonder how many new incidents will I have to wait which at first would need to be trending on social media first so that adequate steps and reforms are done to tackle them. It is not just about rapes, it is related to all other crimes...Once or twice or seldomly, these incidents make to news and we all start crying. I can say with confidence that we still will have rapes similar or even worse than this and perhaps, it won't even make to news.
I wonder sometimes, how many people are being raped, robbed, tortured, killed, kidnapped, selling their bodies for money etc while we happily and joyfully live our lives, eat at good places while many die out of poverty etc.... And it makes me ashamed of myself...and mankind. I guess we all are ignorants and criminals here.
May Allah forgive us all and make us all strive for the correct path. (Ameen)

The guy has clarified his position. I agree with him somehow.. he is criticizing our own society.

When I heard his first statement, I didn't take it as what majority have. Safety is paramount in every long distance and at odd hours travel. But I can understand us Pakistanis taking his statements in a completely wrong way as emotions are running high.

First thing I did in Pakistan when I recognised that I will be travelling long distances regularly (mostly motorway) and at odd hours was to get a hand gun, and then learnt to use it properly. Within Islamabad, I rarely concealed carry but any travels outside Islamabad no matter what time of day or night it was, I always carrying with one in chamber. Travelling with family outside Islamabad included an extended mag semi auto shot gun in the boot. Survival kit and water was always in the boot and still is in UK as well.

Every country is different and one has to have good awareness of the risks in their surroundings and make travel plans accordingly. Safety is paramount in every situation and place. In UK, I also carry what I can legally here - road rage incidents, racist attacks and drunkards getting in fights are not uncommon at all. Even here my mrs and kids are not allowed to travel alone at night, even to the local 24/7 supermarket, unless it is a dire emergency.

Mrs and I were travelling just last week and we had a flat tyre on motorway diversion route. But I was prepared with a powerful torch, quick puncture repair kits etc etc to get us out of the situation quickly to a services station to swap out the wheels, instead of waiting an hour for rescue service or swapping the tyres at roadside with cars and trucks passing by at speeds. This was at 1am.

What happened to the lady and her children is horrifying and terrible. I hope and pray that they get justice, able to get some sort of normalisation in life in near future and move ahead stronger than ever.

My parents and I are ruing our decision to come back from Saudi Arabia last year. Every person we have met here, is a fraud and a liar. my father was hospitilazed few months back because a fraud person. and now its getting more unsafe for women. I am telling you, those who have lived overseas will find it VERY difficult to adjust here. People here are sensitized to haram and proudly own it. Us from middle east are not. The struggles and hurdles never end.

It is a difficult adjustment but it is a choice your family has made and you all have to adjust quickly. Safety first, it is paramount, and trust no one - that's how you start adjusting. Keep your matters private from everyone especially from maids and drivers and relatives. Be extremely cautious of what you say about anything to anyone or in front of anyone and keep a very low profile.

Yes, people are quite open to haram activities and those who are, you should avoid completely! It is up to you to protect yourselves as much as you possibly can. Fitnah is getting widespread in every country now and tomorrow is only going to be tougher, not easier.

As for ME, big fires are coming there so what looks good right now will be far worse than what you are facing in Pakistan. Just look at Syria of before (brimming with tourism and high GDP etc) and after (a ruin). Arab countries are facing a similar fate in coming times.

Unfortunately many of us are oblivious to the need of developing strong situational awareness and end up taking unnecessary and unwarranted risks in majority of our actions.

Law for the rapist shoukd be changed and plz do not take tgem to court once victim say he raped me take a rope and heng him with the tree thats it no court kacheri due to these systems they get stronger

Brother, I know we are all upset and emotional right now. We have to return to our senses. I don't think trend of Liberal West which declares to always believe the woman, no matter what.

It would be the height of injustice to punish an innocent man for the crime. You know how heated family politics in Pakistan become, it the ripe environment for abuse.

Islamic system must be instituted in Pakistan, with severe punishment for rape (execution in public.) This case is clear cut, and so we have proof of the crime and evidence to punish these people immediately.

In the future, we may have a case of alleged rape which may not be so clear cut, an innocent man may be punished for the crime (it does happen.) That is just the nature of human justice, it can never be 100%.

Just hang them in public. Let everyone see that rape is not tolerated, justice is done as promised and rapists can't get away with a hideous action like this. Some people learn self control only when they are sure that they can't get away with it.
This obviously excludes people with proven mental illness records, of course.

Well in Pakistan , the Media storm follows a pattern

Media plays the tune of the sponsors from outside

That pattern is normally an external factor , a signal comes from outside (PML-N) most likely to Anchors to rally up anti Police Commissioner sentiment

And the Media in starts looking up for next criminal case to pick on the more gruesome the case the better purpose it serves

Normally it is always against an institute , in this case Police is targeted, only because in order to kick out PML-N friendly police members who don't arrest Maryem Nawaz or others , Government has appointed a new member to be Police Commissioner

Not long ago drums were beating against Army Head , for alleged financial matters

When Chinese Head of state was to come to Pakistan , Suddenly Fazal Ur Rehman suddenly became active again by instructions from outside Pakistan to again start a fitna in Pakistan

a) The Crime is 100% committed
b) The person who suffered my full sympathies are with that lady and the children
c) The police has just been on case 10 minutes and Media has already passed judgement on new commissioner

However this sudden talk of one case all of sudden raises suspicion because such crimes happen in every city here and there that is why people are extra careful

It were the same people who , stated Nawaz Sharif Criminal Badshah will die in matter of days but he is living healthy life in UK now eating Chicken Tikka

In next 30-40 days expect lot of such cases to suddenly emerge and then Media will claim the sky is falling

When a Provincial Commissioner is changed , then PML-N knows , their gangsters will be picked up by police if they tried to cause a problem at NAB offices, this Media response to highlight the criminal cases and target the new officers is a move to show that Government has done something drastically wrong by changing police commissioner

A part of me feels Punjab Police is involved. Their general attitude they are showing suggests that.

This case is not very straight. Daal main kafi kuchh kala hai
Different departments of Police (NH&MP, Lahore CPO etc) have been throwing responsibility of this specific area on each other to patrol it and secure it. So guess who as usual has to come forward and secure the motherland from criminals. First comes the meeting followed by an official letter recommending plan, then the danda with the fauji Boot and then the Ministry of Interior gets active.

Unfortunately, Pakistani men have unhealthy obsession with women. Even on this forum, topics on women quickly turn into discussions on looks and fetishize female bodies. So, these sorts of horrible crimes are to be expected. I have seen threads on this forum where this sorts of despicable behavior was displayed and in some cases senior members and moderators joined in the frenzy.

for example:https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/mini...-indian-propaganda-regarding-1965-war.683595/

According to fiqh ruling, DNA evidence, or even evidence of abduction or physical attack, is sufficient to punish culprit for rape and equivalent to witnesses required.
This might also be a banditry situation too (since it took place on a road during the victim's travel). Can't think of a more brutal punishment than the one for banditry.

.
Unimaginably horrible crime! May Allah-u Azimushshan grant them Sabr-i Jemil and quick Shifa.....

Islamic suggestion is very specific in this regard - a female shouldn't embark on a long distance journey in a vehicle without a male guardian...

Allah help our poor sister.
Find and skin these devils alive. I just can't believe this.
Isn't the ring road a busy area? What are the details of this evil act?
Dont know how many women they must have raped...women dont go to police to complain in such cases in countries like pak and india(the situation in india is changing though)...even in this case we got to know that she was raped because she called the police when her broke down on that motorway on her hubbys advise ...otherwise am pretty sure her husband wouldnt have complained to police fearing the stigma attached to rape.
Another thing that proves this woman was not the first one those b@stards raped was they didnt kill her...they became bold after raping many women and got away with it...they were sure this case too will never come to police's notice.
