The kind of husband who was humiliated before the entire village when his wife had an affair and ran off with her lover behind his back.

No, that would never happen considering the fact that she was being punished for adultery as a married women. The mob would treat the molest the same way. That is how village justice work and social order is maintained.

Mate, you compared this act with Shariah punishment but you forgot a lot of key differences. First of all husband has no authority to punish his wife, all he can do is to approach the court and prove it...only if he is able to prove, then court will decide and if it finds her guilty, she will be punished but the husband won't administer the punishment himself and moreover.....she won't be sexually assaulted under any circumstances while in this case she got assaulted by the villagers...what an irony..

I wasn't comparing the difference, I was suggested we have our own penal codes and I wouldn't want others to criticise it. Basically, we have our ways and they have theirs, and we leave it as such.
And I agree with what you said about the difference between our shariah code, and Hindu traditions, hence why I called them animals.

True. Every divorce/adultry case has charges of sexual abuse/assault attached to it. Abuse of women friendly laws needs to be amended but who will bell the cat.
