I think this idea of bicameral mind is wrong.

Slavery in the Western world had a strong racial aspect to it...Not that the Arab slave trade didnot castrate and torture Blacks...But the Arabs also had Turk slaves who could always rise up and rule over Arabs because of their superior strength, intelligence and martial characteristics

That had a racial aspect too, slaves were prized on the basis of their skin color. Also, Turks were too much trusted due to the lack of trust between Arabs starting from al-Mutasim, Balkan European were slaves too and were able to reach top posts in the Ottoman Empire though never toppled one.

Also, Read the quoted part I originally posted. Bengali and Malabari slaves were treated like light Negroes.
