There is utterly no doubt that Saudia is one USA's mosted trusted allies and plays pivotal role in US global policy. However Pakistani's have a very heightened sense of self worth. Dozen to the dime you will hear the expression "heaven on earth" with referance to the area of Pakistan they come from. Of course most of these idiots will never have set foot outside of their province let alone Pakistan but they croak "heaven on earth".I said the same thing two days back. America is using Saudi Arabia to sabotage the CPEC.
lol, so than how come saudis are investing in pakistan, are you suggesting the dragon has fallen in line..Chinese media is state controlled. Period. You have already fallen in line. That the Chinese have still reprimanded you publicly is a matter of concern. No **** Jurno gets to write an onion piece in a Chinese Newspaper without clearance from the CCP. Its as simple. Xi wanted to send a message and he has.
even if he enables saudis to setup a single refinery that will be the biggest investment from saudis in 3 decades..so you see how poorly have we done with respect to arab countriesThere is utterly no doubt that Saudia is one USA's mosted trusted allies and plays pivotal role in US global policy. So it is with CPEC. Far too many Pakistani's think CPEC is going to be like a economic black hole that will suck the entire globe into it's incredible pull. The reality is while it is very, very significant to Pakistan but on the global pecking order it's pretty low. Therefore I don't see some grand scheme in all this.
CPEC will continue along the direction it was heading in under the new government. No doubt some tweaking will be done to make CPEC more amenable to PTI's vision but the fundamentels will remain. So I can't really see the need for dramatics about this. The strategic understanding and importance between Pak/China is too great and no matter what government it will broadly remain on track. Each new government will just give it's own thumbprint so as to 'own' it.
As regards KSA. My feeling is it's all drama and free candy for the ignorant masses of Pakistan. I read somewhere that IK did not want to go to IK but was persuaded because of politcal reasons. To the ignorant masses going to KSA, meeting Saudi royalty and visiting the holy sites of Islam is potent stuff. So as matter of political expediancy just as to gain public traction a photo op in KSA is a ritual no Pakistani politico can afford to miss out on.
As regards the practical side of things. That is Saudi investment or Saudi help I expect nothing. Absolutely fcukin nothing. If the visit produced talk of $10 billion there, another $10 billion and another $10 billion up there - well all the good. It will please millions in Pakistan. What did I say about candy for the masses? I have heard Asad Umar talling and reading between the lines he basically says "fcuk all is coming from KSA". Of course no government would deny and state categorically this as why should it? All this talk is good for the government. Candy for masses.Watch out in the future. Non of this "billion dollar" crap is going to transpire. It will slowly be forgotten about.
So to think that USA is actually involved in this foolishness or China is worried is garbage. Don't forget Tom Hussain working for SCMP has to earn his bread. Posting this rubbish keeps him busy. For those of you who are aware of facts you can see the report is full of misleading facts or outright mistakes. It really is very poor piece that a school rag could match.

I said the same thing two days back. America is using Saudi Arabia to sabotage the CPEC.
Now the question is will religious ties trump the economic ties.
@Indus Pakistan , your thoughts?
I thought Israel was America's 51st state.When it comes to the regional and international strategic interests of the USA in the middle east the KSA is essentially and literally their 51st state.
For example if the USA wishes and tells them to, the Saudi Royals will refill the Kaaba with 365 idols.
Pakistan understands this and knows this.
