Bhatkal:In what could snowball into a major controversy, BJP leader and Member of Parliament Anant Kumar Dattatreya Hegde said that Islam had to be eliminated from the world as it was linked with terrorism.

Anant Kumar represents the Uttara Kannada constituency; he gave the controversial statement at a press meet held at Srisi on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that Islam was a hurdle for global peace and that terrorism could not be wiped out as long as Islam remained in the world and the only remedy of putting an end to terrorism was by eliminating the religion.

Anant Kumar went to the extent of saying that Bhatkal (part of his constituency), a Muslim dominant town and Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh were the epicenters of terrorism in the country.

The MP also accused some politicians and a section of the media of supporting terrorism as well as anti-national activities.

In further embarrassment for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a party MP from Karnataka has associated Islam with terrorism just days after a hate speech against the Muslim community by Minister of State for Human Resource and Development (HRD) Ram Shankar Katheria at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) event in Agra.

"Till the time Islam exists in the world, no one can stop terrorism. If we want to keep a place like Bhatkal peaceful, then we should throw Islam away from this world and we should shut Islam," BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde said at a press conference on 1 March.

Katheria's speech at the condolence meeting for a VHP worker at Agra, where he called on the Hindu community to unite against Muslims, rocked the Parliament yesterday with both Houses witnessing disruptions over the incendiary speeches at the event.

Katheria, however, claimed that he had not targeted any community in his speech.



He, along with BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri Babu Lal, attended a condolence meeting on Sunday for VHP worker Arun Mahaur, who was allegedly shot dead by some Muslim youth in Agra.

Meanwhile, leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, commenting on the issue accused the BJP and RSS of harbouring plans to divide the country.

While Samajwadi Party's Ram Gopal Yadav demanded that Katheria be sacked, Congress leader Anand Sharma moved an adjournment notice in the Rajya Sabha on the matter.

No body is going to eliminate anyone bro. It's all about newspaper ratings! And our bot here trolls the extreme depths to bring up the worst and ugliest bits of Micro-news that everyone else just ignores.

I remember a couple years back some Hyderabadi Muslim politician claimed that he would "kill all Hindus if police step back for 15 mins". That guy is still in politiics, his party has several members in parliament and they are still selling their coolaid to those who will buy it. Not too many buy it though.

Islam is not something like they will kill the people or force to convert and will wipe out the world 2nd most major religion like this. Indeed it shows the sign of Indian tolerance towards others/religion other than Hinduism. After all, such kind of statement is proving the intention of India towards Muslim and is very prominent that has been occurring time to time. An eye opener for Indian Muslim's and it will surely flame more hatred among them for India. Such strategy, as defined by subjected BJP MP clearly indicates the intention of India and their stance for Muslims yet an evidence of all those killings of Muslims even in the past. The same statement will help rise more unrest among the people which will cause more damage to the country itself. At the first, he will be submitting his apologies very soon otherwise nothing is going to stop more rise of separators/protests or freedom seekers within India. His statement will help the ISIS as well to rise in India which will ultimately result in destruction though looks like Indian MP is in love for the same cause and doing the job but in other way that people will stand-up and in the same time ISIS will gain sympathy among them and India will headed towards wipe out of itself.

Isn't anyone out there to wake him up and tell him to stop destroying India but definitely no one as the BJP MP is spewing venom against Islam so it serve the purpose of all great Hindutva etc. BTW, last election won by Modi was mostly based upon anti-Pak so the plan for next win by BJP is anti-Islam though it will not benefit at all but nightmare. This guy looks like more inspired by DTrump and his policy but is not aware of results and lost his mind.

Such developments are not in favor of stable India at all and these kind of hatred policies will never result in peace. BJP itself is becoming the enemy of India and planning to destroy the country in such manners that would not need any enemy to do so. Indeed it has been expressed on different times that such kind of movements within India will cause an unrest and panic among the people though even the few groups may take over some kind of sophisticated weapons even the N itself and while looking at the developments and the want of such weapons by ISIS, it looks like that BJP is digging the way for them and making the job easy. BJP should check the facts and still there is time to turn back rather to be at the point without any returning. From separatists to the freedom fighters, everything is pointing towards something unlikely and will indeed be a nightmare for India which i fear may not push India into pieces. Such ego and rhetoric towards others will bring nothing but chances are more to loss almost everything.

The statement of a few hotheads & the generous amount of media coverage that is being given to them is responsible for the negative anti-minority image of the BJP. One of the facts, is above here and the rest are discussed to death and if it has to be like starting with the fact then review the Gujrat happening by Modi and his stance towards Pakistan since start.
