Not entirely true. While it's true that the version number 9 was skipped to avoid clash with 95 and 98 due to codes that checked for version using "starts with", these codes are part of various win32 apps that run on the OS, not the kernel itself. There are a number of these apps developed by various vendors over the years.Does anyone know why Windows skipped 9 and moved to Windows 10? I heard they still have many OS codes where it checks for '9' due to Windows 95 and 98 and can't be changed.

Windows 7 just have all those glowing windows and animations. Windows 8 was fast, secure and flexible. I have tried Windows10 preview. It has lots of bugs and issue but it is still better. You may want to try public version of Windows 10 once.Like win XP, now is the era of Windows 7. Most of the people will stick with Windows 7 for a long time, until something better comes up. Windows 8 was a big disappointment, and since windows 10 is based in 8, I'm gonna stick with 7..
Really? You've never heard of windows xp? It's the best OS microsoft has ever produced. Also, Win 10 is still under development, and only the preview build has been released, of course there are going to be crashes. This shouldn't be surprising. What's Windows XP??? Never heard of it!
And here's a review of Windows 10. Crashed 3 times in 10 minutes!!!!! Jeeez!
I ain't moving out of Win 7 Ultimate. Period!
Win 8 was 1 step forward, and 2 steps back. Win 10 seems to have been made specifically to fix the bullshit that Win 8 introduced.installed window 7 , liked it so much that decided not to go for win 8, just looked at win8 at some pc , seemed childish or unimpressive
Aye!Anyone else still uses Windows XP?

Win 10 hasn't launched yet, the title is misleading, it only has a preview build available.

With it being free for everyone who has win 7, 8, and 8.1, there is no excuse to not at least try it with dual booting.
Microsoft is giving away win 10 to everyone, so yeah, try it.Any software is almost free here in pakistan . . . . i know its piracy, but if u can pay 50 rupees . . . .. hell u can have win 20 if available. Actually every such software is available online through ******** . . . . so. Sure will try it once i buy a new pc by the year end.
