Will the militancy in pakistan end after Waziristan operation???

yes insurgency will continue all TTP has to do as sooner or later PA will cleanse the area but they have safe exits in afghanistan and the border is a very long strecth TTP once realising that they will be ran over soon will wrap up their ops and move south .... its a long long tussle.

Even after the Waziristan Ops militancy will not end.

It will not end, but terrorist attacks will decrease significantly. The number of terrorist training/brainwashing facilities in SW are unmatched elsewhere.

That is because both the dictators and elected politicians of Pakistan let them build those facilities over a period of over two decades.

Unntil Kashmir is freed from India u cant stopp this. Kashmir and Palastine are fuel for making of freedom fighter or also called terrorists in Pakistan.

These days Iraq and Afghainstan war are giving us more terrorists stop these wars and solve some how Kashmir and Palastine issue wola no more fighting.

What does Kashmir and Palestine have to do with what is going on in S. Waziristan? Is PA fighting Kasmiris and Palestinians? Going by your logic this war will never end.

Inshallah the menace of indian supported taliban will end but to some extent it will remain. What we have to do after the ops is revitalise this area submerge it into mainstray and declare it settled area like bannu or kohat develop it.EDUCATION and COMMERCIAL ventures maybe into something like govt supports the local crafts men who make those weapons give them support advertise and make sure that there products reach global markets 4 or more unversities are a must basic health care units or hospitals roads these are the main points through which we can improve and clearly root out the terrorism manace

These people want to turn Pakistan into what Afghanistan was under the Taliban. What Educational and Commercial ventures? These people are blowing up shops because they don't like whats being sold, the blow up schools because they don't like what or who is being taught.

You can give all kinds of support but it is not going to make a bit of difference. I can name at least 20 different places in the world where the situation is worse, but they do not have the same problems as Pakistan.

The Indians can shut down the consulates but it won't make a difference.

USA can pull out of Afghanistan but that too will make no difference.

The only thing that is going to end the bloodshed, is the citizens of Pakistan, the GOP, and ISI coming together, and making a decision that no nutcase Jihadi will find sanctuary in Pakistan.

The will be no tolerance for any ideology of violence.

Boot out any foreigner who has come to wage Jihad.

Monitoring what is taught in the Madrassas, the messages from the Mosques on fridays.

Minimizing the gun culture in the North West.

Taking strong action against anyone who advocates violence in the name of Islam.

This may be a start in the right direction.

To be honest that question can only be answered by how the politics in this region will shape up in the future.... it all boils down to the fact that if Americans really do want them gone.... as far as my understanding goes the states needs to be in the region ..China is projecting itself to be the next superpower and the US needs a proper set-up in middle east and south east asia... it needs an excuse to stay there for two reasons

A. To keep tabs on two strongest muslim nations (Prime reason: keep Israel safe )
B. To assert its presence in a region where another superpower is spreading its wings

Hows all that tied to the end of militancy in Pakistan ? well these militants are the excuse...they created them for a purpose...they left them alone for a while when there purpose was fulfilled...Now in recent years China has grown to be the biggest economic influence in the world...to counter its economic growth and influence further into the region and more importantly to its promising Ally the United needs to create and maintain an unstable region... and this army of militants is the key to that instability

These are the politics as how i see them... Pakistan is certainly able to get rid of these militants from within its borders but only if Pakistan so desires.

US need to pay attention to house of Saud or bring political reforms in Saudia. If this monarchy rest in peace, this will bring lot of peace in this region. Foreign intervention in Afghanistan should stopped, because lots of players take advantage behind the curtains of NATO and US forces and making situation more complex for peace.Putting Pakistan forces in danger, those who fighting with extremist in both side of border.
Second, Saudis and their money channel need to be controlled.

Sir, in first line you are asking American to "fix" Saudis, and in next suggesting to stop foreign intervention in Afghanistan, allow me to quote good old Suhail Waraich here

"Kiya yay khula tizad nahee ???":what:

one has to come out of state of denial and admit the fact that total
chaos in the region specially in Afghanistan and Pakistan is due to the foreign presence in the area, as long as Americans do not come out of their "American Dreams" thinking about final solution is not going to help.

What does Kashmir and Palestine have to do with what is going on in S. Waziristan? Is PA fighting Kasmiris and Palestinians? Going by your logic this war will never end.

People who are fighting against Pakistan Army think and propagate that PA is fighting along side with US, protecting and guarding US interests in the region, facilitating killings of Afghans and local pushtoons, and when PA revives pads on the back from sectary Hillary then the perception goes beyond the limit of reality, it becomes faith.

May I add that until indians are present in Afghanistan terrorism will continue to happen in Pakistan.

1) If the US pulls out of Afganistan, who will keep the taliban from retaking kabul and other cities and in effect gaining control of the entire country.
Also if the taliban come to power, they might support their brothers on the pakistani side of the border, means more trouble for pak.
So best case is for US to stay in Afganistan till the Afganistan government cant fight the taliban on its own.

2) As mentioned in the video, the military operation wont completely stop the TTP but will surely hamper its abilities.

3) As to the question of how to stop them, i dont have a good answer. As was mentioned in one of the above posts, TTP blows up anything it finds against its ideology. so the usual way of developing the place so that people dont support the people destroying wont work.

TTP gets its following due to its islamist philosophy, not due to any greviances of the people(atleast the articles i have read indicate so. i might be wrong)

this creates a big problem. this ia a philosophy whichi believe the pakistani people will find difficult to fight as they themselves believe strongly in a moderate version of the same. they also believe deeply in islam and of living in an islamic way as a good muslim. the TTP defines the "good muslim" and "islamic".

what the TTP says might be wrong, no doubt about it but it if moderated will sound very similar to what i have been led to believe the pakistani state was structured around during zia ul haq's rule.
