Will separating the North East be better for everyone?

@Saheli Zootinali already explained you your misconception on my behalf. M thankfull to him for that. NE separatism not driven by racism bt more to do with Central govt treating us as second class citizens. Things has improved since.

@DingDong
Got your point, I was just trying to defend our men in uniform.

@Chinese-Dragon
Why are you dishing out so many negative ratings to mr. Dingdong???? I mean with no offence he has not abused any1. Or did he???

Ching chong - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ching chong or ching chang chong is a pejorative term sometimes employed by speakers of English to mock or play on the Chinese language, people of Chinese ancestry, or other East Asians who may be mistaken for Chinese that resided in Western countries.

If you are really a Northeast Indian, you would have known that this is a racial slur, for anyone of East Asian appearance.

I am not arguing against the current states or the Mizo people here. I butted in when I saw The_Sidewinder being what I thought was sympathetic towards abotani. Maybe he was just being kind and mature, but I do not understand that kind of kindness. To which The_Sidewinder brought in the bombing by IAF of Aizwal as justification of abotani's grievances.

All states have their own set of problems including boundary issues, water sharing issues, immigrants, resources, regionalism, etc. etc., but it never justifies separatist tendencies. I would talk harshly to even a person from my state or even my neighborhood if he/she was to talk in those terms.
Some misunderstanding between you and him I guess .. I agree with rest of your post ,some issues will always remain there but separatist tendencies must not be tolerated at any cost , every one end up losing in the end

And when did we adis claim otherwise?Some of our fiercest battles were fought with the tibetans when they tried to assimilate us.We are the tanis,distinct yet related to the chinese and tibetan.But we are part of the same china..at times the central chinese system would weaken and the tibetans would assert autonomy and us tanis,well,we had our ways.We did our part for China when it was required and they were content with that.
You are making no sense now .. good bye

Central govt in India was not run by the brightest stars in India we all admit. Not just NE, but every state was mistreated. When stats claim India has more poverty than subsaharan Africa, then those figures are mostly from "mainland" India. Glad separatism is on its way out.

NE separatism is not driven by racism! If that is true then what is driving one group against the other? Truth is that even if the IA vacates the space, these groups who claim to be fighting for the rights of their people won't stop bleeding the NE, they will simply start cutting each others' throats (they are already doing that). Tribalism is not very different from racism, it is racism at cave-man's time and scale.

They cry about racism, but any outsider who has ever visited NE will tell a different story, anobody who looks different is treated differently. Racism is a bigger problem in NE than places like Delhi or Bangalore.

guys when people in the rest of india call NE indians as chinki it is only because they arent aware of the complete geographical part of india and how peopl look at diffrnt parts of india , and not that we are racist or smethng else. but the good thing is that thngs are changing at fast pace.... and as peopl get to meet each other all these slurs are going to end.....

Just like you were unaware that ching-chong is a slur, majority of Indians are unaware that chinki is a slur. They have never heard of American history or the rail road workers and have no idea that chink was used as an abuse. Much of Indians are not even aware of Indian history, where they will know what Americans did.

India did not share the prejudices that Americans did about Chinese. So there were no slur words for the Chinese. If anything looking like a Chinese or a Japanese was a compliment in India. It was considered a sign of beauty, doll like.

Some English speaking Indians have adopted the American slangs to just rile the Chinese when we butthead, but there is no inherent racism or ethnic hatred as such for the Chinese.

Anybody who talks about secession and insults our armed forces must not expect any decent response. Indian Laws protect the citizens of this country, not the enemies.
