There won't be any nuclear war. Both the countries know the fact no matter how suicidal/extremists both become killing millions isn't an answer. The world won't just sit quiet, the super powers of the world, will step in. Well, unless there is a WWIII, then that changes every thing, and if thats the case it doesn't matter about India/Pakistans survival, then question would be what part of the world would survive then?

India never went through a full Scientific Revolution/Enlightenment era the way say Thailand did (under King Ram Mongkut in the mid 19th century)....This is exactly the reason Thailand is such a huge powerhouse when it comes to exporting cars and heavyweight motorcycles (above 500cc engine)..If Immigration to the West is banned, expect the high IQ Indians (and Paks or any big South Asian country) to completely change the way politics and administration is done...you would also see then GDP per capita nominal to quadruple to 8k USD per capita within 15 years......as India is now, expect the ceiling to be somewhere around 4k USD per capita nominal

Yes, both will survive.

Pakistan will survive because of its location is of strategic importance to world powers, especially China.

India will survive, because its a quickly growing nation, one which the west and Europe consider a great opportunity to contain China, and make a lot of money, so they'll continue to pump money into India.

HOWEVER, just because they'll survive, it doesn't mean their current borders will remain the same as today.

I personally believe that Pakistan's border will likely expand on its western front, as Pakistan will dominate that region once US/NATO forces completely withdraw. Its likely Iran will become Pakistan's strategic rival in the region, once foreign forces leave, and the power vacuum needs to be filled. Iran and Pakistan will likely seek to both fill that gap.

Meanwhile, I also believe that another nation will likely be carved out of India, simply because there are too many people in India, along with too many vested interests, causing too much internal instability. With India continuing to experience an explosive population growth, and extreme poverty which is likely going to get worse, as automation continues, its only a matter of time until at least 1 region declares itself independent. Before anyone says anything, just because Indians gdp will become the 3rd largest globally within a few decades, it means nothing if no jobs are being created, and if division, poverty, economic gap between the rich and poor, along with civil unrest continue, which they will.

I also predict that Afghanistan will completely collapse within the next 50 years, and split apart into many different nations along political and ethnic lines. Unlike India and Pakistan, Afghanistan has never had a sense of unity, and its fragility due to its lack of unity will be its downfall.

EDIT: btw Thailand has a motorcycle industry because Japanese and Western men LIKE Thai girls. NO OTHER REASON. I lived in Japan. I talked to Japanese who did business in Thailand. Comments along the line of "they are carefree making for slow and inefficient workers." was common. I am always surprised how institutional organizations over time get a life of their own and create almost a new social unit that enters the local landscape where caste, tribal, clan or religious affliation was the only social orders that existed.

Even if 5% of became homeless that would be a tidal wave of 10 million. India or China's motorcyle industry may be bigger but those motorcycles are on average sell for €1,000-€1,500 ...but the motorcycles that Thailand exports are worth on average €10,000-€20,000...require a much more trained workforce, way more sophisticated tooling and factories...not to forget the high value cars Thailand exports compared to any South Asian country (I am not aware of its size but it's a at least an order of magnitude more than their motorcycle exports..which is already in €2-3 billion euro range)
