Will overseas Pakistani stop sending Remittance if they cannot Vote via Internet or other country? I mean if show PTI laws are block by the SC and overseas Pakistani are not allowed to vote in other countries or via online than will still send money to Pakistan with same passion even if their is a other form of government in 2023.

I don't agree with online voting - you just cannot secure it 100% to where there can be no doubts about the system being compromised.

Mail in ballots for overseas Pakistanis, with copies of NADRA cards/MRP's, should be the only option.

I don't know about the states but in the UK there are consulates in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow in addition to the London embassy, citizens could go and vote there in person with mail in ballots as an option. There is no excuse for why overseas Pakistanis should not be allowed to vote - there are ways around every problem.

The only question will be - if there is enough political will to implement this change.

I don't think so, overseas Pakistanis send money back as they have families or some other dependency that needs to be financed (property upkeep, other assets). I don't think I will change with how much I send to Pakistan.

I will admit that I was very pumped up about Roshan account and initially had a sizeable amount close to Rs 10 lacks in there but recent political turmoil and Pakistan's political landscape had me worried so I got the money out. I don't trust the PMLN and PPP goons, they will try and rake the money. I would rather burn it myself than contribute to their lavish lifestyle.

Dual nationals shouldn't be allowed to vote and neither should be allowed to be in the government. People who have been outside of the country for more than 5 years they shouldn't be allowed to bote as well. It should be only done at the consulate.

We should not be focusing on online voting we should be focusing on voting through consulates let the voting start few weeks before and give people time to go there and vote.. then count the vote and get results back home

Those in UK can even do it through community centres with embassy/consulate staff dropping by there to conduct the voting and all that

Q ? Apke abbu ka mulk jo dual nationals ya 5 saal se zyada rehne wale vote nai kar sakte ? We work hard here to earn and most of what we earn is sent back home which has been keeping Pakistan from going bankrupt after f*cked up policies of Naju gang.. but no we shouldn't be allowed, how dare we demand our constitutional right 😑

Online voting can be made more secure than any mail in ballots. Mail in ballots can be “lost” “created” and manipulated.

Online vote choice can be encrypted and verifications can be done with a live picture/short video which can be separate from the actual vote so no one know who voted who. This can not be done by attaching the copy of ID card or passport with the actual vote.

I think lack of understanding on how simple AI can be used to make the voting process transparent and secure is the issue here.

How EVM or online voting is setup and the backend security is implemented will be important.

A lot of people including people within all political parties and establishment, bureaucracy including ECO have a lot to lose by implementing a truly secure forward looking system.

Why, what makes you more Pakistani over them ?
The country is living off of these peoples honest and hard work while some freeloaders and corrupt people who are more Pakistani burning the country to the ground.

Online secure voting is the future. Close to 100% turnout can be achieved easily via this method.
Make 50% of the actual vote as benchmark for winning the election for each seat.
Make voting compulsory for everyone. Anyone who doesn’t vote should be penalised.
Make the voting process easier and free from influence in same day voting.
If no one is currently doing it does not mean that it can’t be done or that we have to follow the flawed and outdated process which may not even be the correct one for Pakistan.

Overseas Pakistanis who send remittances are from GCC states... most of them have their families and friends back in Pakistan, by no means, can they risk to not send money back home.
Similarly, neither it's their passion, it's their compulsion to send money back home to family, friends and needy.
Election thing in Pakistan is a big cheat, having voting right have no value, neither for local nor for overseas Pakistani.

Nah they've been sending money for the past 20 years, not gonna stop any time soon

They shouldn’t send money back home either. If their significant other is in the country they ought to vote
