India as one of my professors put it "is Africa on steroids". Indian economy is not going to hitwall but surely will slow down to its sustainable natural growth level.

And the qualifications of your professor are? Btw, how does it matter what an average Joe thinks about anything?

I am reading times of india, it seems all members on the forum are sit tight and take light of these INR, inflation, economic downturn,etc, compared to the general public of India, here let me quote a few comments,

Under external pressure, we have reduced our oil imports from cheaper source like Iran. Now we buy high price crude from west supported Middle east like Saudi Arabia. 10 % reduction in cheaper oil will drain billions of dollars from our country. We have good economy, good local harvest, but we are under pressure from the only country in this world who used not one but two nuclear bombs to demonstrate her superiority and now forcing us to cut crude oil from the country who is using nuclear energy for their energy need like us.
We have excess wheat crop this year. We have problem of storage. It was rightly indicated in TOI on Sunday that we can sell wheat to Iran and buy more crude oil from them at cheaper rate. Dollar will come down to Rs 40/- in no time.
We need to get our Indipendence.

Pranav well said that he is not sitting idle...but buddy how long you will take to take any action. Economy is bleeding and you have not had any concrete action anytime. You just come to press and announce that you are sitting idle.

'Very busy & pre occupied : There are many more urgent & important matters needing immediate attention ! Priority has to be given to the pending cases, accordingly .Let us wait & watch the developments in Europe /Greece etc a little longer. We are still much better than Pakistan,Nepal,Bangla Desh et al ! Recently we gave DA to our employees ! Vegetables are being sold just double the price ! Petrol & gas prices are so important for the govt to ensure frequent world tours;it has to go up substantially!' OMG ! STOP ALL THIS ABSURD WRITING ! We are heading towards dooms day,for sure ! And by the time 2014 is in,nothing shall be visible but the sandy dunes & their rising dust to blind our eyes & block our nostrils/ears too ! It is a wake up call to the voters . Now or never . Bring in a few dedicated ,independent thinkers,committed leaders /politicians to ensure the two time meal at reasonable cost of living to the man on the street. It's sickening ! No other currency in Asia is as bad and unwanted as ours. The Government and RBI seem clueless and have apparently abandoned the revered Rupee to her own destiny. It's a free fall of worst kind. What will happen to our fiscal deficit ? Where will it end ? 7.6 % GDP growth seems like a tall talk. Walk the talk Mr. FM !
