"Will cut tongue of anyone who wants to change Blasphemy Laws" - JI

And let me tell you how print media works .... one outlet publishes the news, other pick it up and republishes! That's how it multiplies. Almost identical words are used in each of the three sources posted!

And if/when JI rubbishes this news, you lot will neither believe that nor take the cursing back.

. .
Let's see if this big news is actually PRINTED tomorrow by Nation and News & Jang ....

Why are you always making excuses? It doesn't matter. A source gets verified before its published. That's how media outlets work. You'll see something published on BBC but Al-Jazeera will extract it too if its covering the same story as not all journalists are there to verify facts.

Its a story take it or leave it. It has been verified. Boohoo.

You forgot Iraq's weapons of mass destruction :omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

And you are comparing News and Nation with BBC!!! Oh gosh!!

As I said, let's wait for this 'verified' news to be PRINTED tomorrow in the the 2 newspapers who published it first ... So far it is a 'web desk' news only in English, nothing in Urdu.

Dawn hasn't published it yet either. Dawn's standards are the highest in Pakistan, and nothing there so far.

Yet another attention seeker with a savage and backwards mindset.

And already, even among the relatively educated and cultured crowd of PDF, the usual suspects instinctively jump to hopelessly defend the indefensible.

Glad the Mods here are well informed and with it. Apparently giving four sources wasn't enough, I got another one in the line waiting to be dropped lol.

No one is defending anyone. Kindly do not imply as such!

This is no small news and we should wait for it from multiple and highly reliable resources (now some online christian newspaper is publishing it, and they had their journalist present too?).

It's a pity that anything blasphemy related news is automatically considered true :rolleyes1: .... and those on the bandwagon themselves accuse others to be!

I know you were not overtly defending the statement here, only taking issue with the authenticity of the source. But you'll forgive us secularists and liberals for doubting whether the reactionaries when it comes to such news are actually concerned with the content of what's being discussed, as opposed to mere qualms about editorial standards.

So just to be clear, do you condemn any such statement made by anyone, whatever, that would advocate mutilating anyone who wants to change the law? Even if this statement isn't true as you say, would you openly state that advocating this is barbaric and condemnable?

Anyone answering this question can quickly conclude whether their concerns are just about the authenticity of the news, or perhaps more motivations exist related to the content. And I also see that you're not believing multiple sources either, that's fine, I won't comment on that for now.

The Express Tribune is part of the Express media Urdu-language Daily Express newspaper. :coffee:

I guess you and others missed Post 43 where I concur that it is against Islam and person should be arrested and prosecuted!!!!! Need I say more???

Shall I now join the bandwagon and start swearing and name calling etc too? Yes, that's the liberal style so in order for my condemnation to be acceptable, I should follow their lead. Yes?

I'm just shocked that such a big news has gone a miss on all TV news channels, and it seems Nation and News (and that too on the web) are the only main publishers of this news (rest are copy pasting anyways).

If people have problem reading and seem to skip things due to bias blinkers turned on fully, then they should fix this problem before accusing others needlessly.

It is copy and paste of exact everywhere .....! Did you not notice that at all?

It's not been a day since it was first published, the few sources that are reporting are usually enough to go by on most stories, why is it people pick the subject of blasphemy to bring up media bias? At any rate, I'll wait, and maybe you'll get your wish of more reputable sources.

Until then, there's nothing more to discuss.

I'll ignore that question. Pointless getting into that debate with.

As I have said before, let's wait for this news to be printed and on tv news channels. Then LEAs should investigate and take action - as per the law!
